Pulchritudinus. March 23, 2024, was the best day to have visited Bolton Abbey. The walk along the trails is something to remember. Loved the way they made the walk interactive for the kids. It is indeed an escape from the city. Well worth the journey to the estate.
Lovely walk around here, thankfully it was a dry day apart from a quick shower but we were close to a cafe so nipped in for a quick coffee and cake.
At £15 12.50 online would seem expensive but, in fact, is well worth it, as you can transfer between the 4 car parks in the valley. Great for a whole day's walking with different things to see at each place. Dogs welcome on leads for the majority.
We wanted to go, but didn't want to pay £15 for parking for what would be around an hour, so we decided against. Shame really, but it's just too expensive. Perhaps they ought to charge less for shorter stays.
There is plenty of parking book early for a discount. Great place to walk picnic or paddle in the river. Lots to learn about the Abbey. P.s. For the older ones, loads of gravestone to read.
Lovely place but at £15 entry for parking it's very steep. Unless you take the family out for the full day I can't bring myself to pay that kind of money.
We were on a coach trip but the car park was very large and adequate There's a charge on entry but I never saw the entry fees. Bolton Abbey though is a wonderful place to visit it is extremely relaxing. You can do the stepping stone challenge? There's plenty of area to take a stroll and listen to the birds in full song. The ruins are in amazing good order and in the graveyard I found the tombstone of the on and only Freddie Truman. The other surprising factor is it's actually a small village with it's own shops and post office
Neat. Tidy and well laid out. Can get very busy. Parking £15 or £12.50 booked online motorbikes, cars, motorhomes. Friendly staff. Greeted with a smile. Brilliant. No litter... Amazing!
Bolton Abbey is honestly one of my favourite places to unwind and enjoy a beautiful day outdoors. The walking trails are just fantastic, especially when the weather is nice. There's something so calming about walking alongside the River Wharfe and soaking up the stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The best part is, there's a trail for everyone! Whether you're up for a challenging hike or just fancy a stroll, you'll find the perfect route to suit your mood and fitness level. And let's not forget those picture-perfect spots by the river where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a picnic with family or friends. The staff at Bolton Abbey are always so friendly and helpful, making sure you have everything you need for a great day out. And if you fancy a bite to eat or a cup of tea, the on-site cafes serve up some delicious treats to refuel you for more exploring. So, if you're looking for a lovely place to spend a day in nature, Bolton Abbey should be on your list. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
Yes it's £15 but entry to the abbey is free so you wouldn't moan at £7.50 each for somewhere you can spend the whole day would you?
