I used boiler care a week ago due to an issue with the radiators not switching on from the oil fired boiler. In short the workman came and replaced a diverted cartridge on the boiler as he stated this was "sticking". I later found out he also replaced an automatic air vent which they stated was leaking this appeared on the itemised invoice which I later received. I had not been made aware or asked if I wanted this part replacing or "fixed". In addition since last using boiler care in June 2016 I was not aware that they have put their labour charges upto £66.67 per hour, previously this was around £45.00. I have since been advised that they do not tell customers of their price increases or prices in general unless a customer specifically requests this information. Also on my bill was a charge of £20.83 which is itemised as "visit to faulty heating system". When i asked for someone to come out to attend which was at 3.45pm I was not made aware they charge for sending someone out to visit in addition to the hourly labour cost. The workman replaced the diverter valve and the radiators were still not working from the thermostat box receiving information from the receiver unit, therefore he suggested I replace the batteries in the thermostat box however I had no batteries in the house. I said I would wait for someone to bring some and he then waited for this to arrive, upon changing the batteries and resyncing the thermostat box to the receiver unit the issue was rectified. I now feel like because of their hourly rate that the workman was killing time to get as close to the hourly rate time as possible. I have queried my bill which came to £175 with boiler care and have received a lengthy response with various justifications covering some but not all of the points I raised. I won't be using boiler care again and would advise anyone thinking of using them to ask for a breakdown of exact prices in advance before they start and then throughout the job as it is clear they will take it upon themselves to replace parts and charge you for this without discussing this with you first. I would also be weary in regards to whether they are just stalling for time to get the most out of a hourly fee. I think their labour charge is excessive especially if they are in addition charging a "visitation" fee.

Called this morning as I have a problem with an oil boiler in one of my properties and as they have fixed a problem in another of my properties in Attleborough I would class myself as an existing customer - only to be told in a very rude manner that you are not taking on any new customers in the area of my other property - am i not already an existing customer ? You were happy to take my money at one of my properties but not the other ?? Absolutely Disgusting customer service and I have even recommended you to other people - I certainly won’t be anymore - in fact I will be telling them not to support your business as I’m So disappointed in your service ! Really impressed with how quickly we were able to get an appointment, and Dan was fantastic in getting everything working again. Great guys, and would highly recommend.
