Bodleian library is one of historical place in Oxford University campus. It's front opposite to Radcliffe Camera. I visited this place last month. Now I am back to india. But I miss this place and surrounding. It's a very good place with a restaurant inside.nnIt's well connected with Oxford city via regularly running busses...nnin November 2025 I visited - yes it was cold , recommended to bring your warm clothes. Take care of cold temperature some times -2. So take care of your health.nI am sharing some footages of nearby Oxford. Have a look & enjoy this historical place...nGo to UK and enjoy this historic place inside Oxford campus... thanks
An amazing place full of history and culture. The building is big but the library use medium small size. We had a guided tour. The tourist guide was well knowledgeable. We did bit tickets in line since you have to pick your slot. You are not allowed food, drinks or big bulky luggage.
An absolutely gorgeous building with a rich history and priceless stories. We did a one hour tour and I could’ve stayed for double that easily. Our guide, Elizabeth, was intelligent, well spoken, and very entertaining. She has a lovely voice and shared so many facts and anecdotes about experiences at the libraries. I would absolutely recommend the tour and purchasing tickets in advance.
Managed to get tickets for the architecture and library tour it was super informative and absolutely beautiful to visit. If you do this tour you will need to check your bag apparently they think we will steal books. Which honestly is fair if given the opportunity I would consider it.
Definitely worth it! Our guide was very knowledgeable and also provided visual aids of before and after photos of renovations and restorations. Our guide provided us with an extensive history of the background and founding of the library, in addition to the lecture hall and testing area. This library has one of the most extensive collections of some of the oldest books I have ever seen in my life.
