The new rate my takeaway kitchen in packhorse is a vibrant refreshing addition not Huddersfield with so many new options to choose from. The first oneb I've tried is Bobbys salt and pepper and I would say I have a very pleasant experience.nTo start with the service is incredible the person who took my order made sure to walk me through the whole menu recommending different popular items, and the whole process was great.nI got a box 5 which had a burger wings chips prawn toast and veg spring rolls.nOverall I enjoyed my meal a lot. It was extremely filling and I will say I overestimated how much I could eat in one go, it's definitely one of the bigger boxes they have and it's a hefty portion.nThe burger was nice a bit heavy in mayo for my liking but overall I enjoyed it a lot the chicken was crispy and juicy but did lack a bit of flavour.nThe wings were amazing the breading was spot on and they were still crispy even with the sauce. The sauce definitely elevated them.nThe spring rolls were a nice addition and I enjoyed them no complaints there.nThe prawn toast was also delicious but for me a tad but oily. This may be cause they themselves were oily or it might be just cause everything in the box was fried so the oily taste builds up. I will say you need something to cut through to it as towards the end I did feel heavy as you do when you have too much fried food. But that's my only issue and it's not the biggest one at that. I would maybe suggest having some sort of vinegar or lemon based sauce complimentary to the boxes to help cut through the grease a bit. Or something fresh in the box to help break up all the fried food.nOverall a solid 8-9/10 highly recommended
Bobbed down on a Tuesday lunch time. Lovely staff for greeting and ordering, and food came within about 10 mins when the buzzer went off.nIt had been raved about on social media reviews - that said I've never seen a reviewer actually give an average or low review.nI can only give my and my brothers meal opinions;nI had the 1/4 duck which when it arrived came in a large tray however this was 4/5 full of cucumber, spring onion and lettucewhich is a new one on me for this meal but by the by. What little pre-shredded duck there was there was, at best, the amount you would get off a drumstick - not 1/4 duck. A substantial amount of this was also fat which while the crispy bits were tasty, the white fat was slimy and off-putting. A very small amount of duck in each pancake only allowed for 4 of the 6 pancakes.nA huge plus with this meal is the hoisin sauce was so nice I would have drunk it.nMy brother had the combo box 3 - he said the prawns were nice, but felt the chicken had been cooked in the same oil as some areas of the chicken batter were 'prawny' in flavour which led to him leaving some. The chips were good, but the noodles lacked a little something and didn't appear cooked fresh - having turned more mushy.nnWould we order those things again? No.nWould I try something else there? Maybe, but there were a lot of other places beside it that I would try first.nn*EDIT* Just realised this has posted on the Ossett one, but I went to Huddersfield, which I can't seem to review separately.'
I recently ordered from Bobby's Salt and Pepper and I was thoroughly impressed! The flavours were spot on, with the perfect balance of seasoning that made every bite delicious. The portions were generous, and the food was hot and fresh. It's clear they use quality ingredients, and the cooking was just right—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside.nnThe only thing that could make the experience better would be the option to customise a box meal. Having the ability to mix and match different items would make it even more appealing. Nonetheless, Bobby's is definitely my go-to for a tasty, satisfying takeaway. Highly recommended!
[Update] Been going here occasionally after the pub. Usually get our order super quick, then get the bus back to Dewsbury to go to Huddersfield. Today we were waiting over fifteen minutes. Missed our bus, but another wasn't far behind. Guess it just shows how popular the place is. Especially around 7/8pm.nnFirst time going. Had a bit of time before our bus. Both got box meals and they were lovely. We'll worth the money. Tasty and filling. The chips were especially nice, very crispy. Will probably try a full portion of their chips next time.nnWe were sat waiting for less than ten minutes. They had half a dozen people working in the kitchen, most seemed quite young but all very professional.nnNice good after a session at the pub :-
Fist time ordering from here. Really nice food will definitely be going again. Ordered the loaded box 6. Couldn't finish it.
