A lovely old pub set on the side of the river Tyne by Wylam railway station. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but no parking. Children are allowed in the games room where you will find a games machine over 18s only and a pool table. Several booth style seating areas, a bay window seating area and a tv. The building is old and full of character with bespoke stain glass windows. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely return and recommend to others.
Fantastic range of draft beers, lagers and ciders. Not to be missed if a real ale fan. Lovely homely, welcoming atmosphere with a real fire. My kind of pub!! Right next to the railway station which is handy!
Huge selection of real ale. Simple menu of pub meals 11am-4pm. Immediately adjacent to the level crossing so anyone so inclined can enjoy the views of the trains passing.
Great local pub with over 10 local ales on well worth a visit if you are in the area and right next to the railway station Walkability: Great walks right from the door steps
Massive selection of great cask ales, toasties, open fire - next to the train station - on route for bikes and walks - dog friendly - fab pub
We love this place and always plan a stop here when we are up this way. Probably the best pub in the world!!. Handy for the trains doesn't come into it, as the pub is literally right next to the railway station and its grade 2 listed elevated signal box. Bewildering array of real ales on the bar, each one in tip top condition. Thai food is also served but we were only here for the beer and we were not disappointed.
Excellent food .. Fab beers with a great selection Prefect location Nearby activities: Fabulous walks along old railway track , great Riverside walks to Newburn Bridge and park. Walkability: Easy level walks past George Stevensons cottage . Food & drinks: Best beer Tasty food Toasty warm log fire
First visit to Newcastle and went to this Great local pub. A good selection of beers and great atmosphere
Always great for a pint or two, friendly atmosphere inside and brilliant outdoor beer garden.
