The boathouse is situated in the perfect spot, staff keen to help and friendly and seem pretty well trained, food turned up fairly promptly and the wine was reasonable, however there was a really dirty knife in the cutlery and I later noticed a dried sauce finger smudge on my plate after I'd been tucking into my burger! I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that the plate was a clean one!?! Great views from the promenade.
Nice bar right on the seafront at Dawlish Warren. Good range of beers as well as all the drinks you'd normally expect. Good range of pub grub at reasonable prices. Staff friendly and deco atmospheric. Dog friendly.Food: 4/5
We sat outside on a beautiful sunny afternoon/evening. The service was quick and the food lovely. We drank cocktails/mocktails as I was driving and sat taking in the glorious view. Will be returning as soon as possible to holiday in Dawlish again and will definitely be back for all the above reasons.Food: 5/5
We ordered a chicken kebab and a lasagne. Both dishes were well presented and initially looked to be nice. Both came with fries which were cold. The lasagne also came with cold garlic bread. The lasagne had no flavour and was really dry. When we told the person who collected the plates, they said they would tell the kitchen but offered no resolution to us. The chicken kebabs tasted fine, but again the fries were cold. Very over priced for the disappointing experience. The person who had the chicken kebabs had visited several times previously and had never had a bad experience. However, the experience that we had this time put off me as a first time customer and I doubt I willever return. I would have a more favourable view of the restaurant if the staff actively sought to reach a resolution to the poor food. For £45, for 2 mains and 2 drinks, it is a no from me. Staff were friendly aside from the issue highlighted and our seating request was met. There were issues with them getting the booking up on their system though. Edit: we have since had contact from Sally who has arranged to compensate for the poor experience.
Pretty nice place with good food. I liked the drink that I ordered. Unfortunately, the lettuce wasn't very fresh in our food. The other thing that was a bit odd was that in the menu for drinks, there were no prices, which was annoying. The atmosphere and decor of the place were really nice . The person who was serving us was very polite, and they didn't bother us during food with question if everything is OK. They just picked the plates after .
Good food and a lively atmosphere, it was one of the hottest days of the year so far. The service was okay but we had a long wait for some of our meals due to a mix up in the kitchen and a lack of communication. I understand that paying for your meal up front stops people not paying for meals, but this does lead to other issues, if each family pay individually on the same table the food should still come out at the same time. Wheelchair accessibility: One of our party had issues with steps, the ground floor access was good, but as a large party we were placed on the upper floor, this need us to go back out and go around to a back entrance after a steep slope. This was okay in the dry, but I would not like to do it in the rain.
Fantastic place quite a good selection of foods to choose from ranging from about £12 upwards, also smaller plates available. Great atmosphere, staff very friendly and mega efficient. Dogs made very welcome in the lower deck. Enjoyed it a lot.Food: 5/5
