Sometimes this place gets quite unfair reviews and it's put me off coming here with my kids quite a few times ... BUT what a great way to spend a few hours, actually we really enjoyed it! We've been to bigger aquariums and they are fantastic but I felt a little guilty for not supporting our local aquarium before this visit. It's a great place for the kids ... The animals are well cared for and there's more of a variety than I expected there to be ..the seals are great ...the staff are professional & the gift shop is full of fun things to take as a souvenir! The restaurant also appears to be quite up market for an add on ...sadly for us grownups our kids had plans to go for a yellow arches after so we didn't get to eat there! All in all a really great little trip out!
Expensive entry prices for a day. All staff are friendly and knowledgeable. A large selection of marine animals and plants with feeding shows twice a day along with a seal show. There is a well priced restaurant on site that is clean and tidy. Parking is not owned by the aquarium and is payable by cash at the paring meter or by phone app.
Staff are kind and attentive to guests visiting the aquarium. You can see how well the sea life's enclosures are maintained. Staff were making parts of a new enclosure for the catfish, it was nice to see upgrades happening during the visit and to see the happiness of all the aquatics. The cafe was surprisingly cheaper than expected. And very good food to. Gift shop has a wide variety of things to choose from, real open your own clam pearl necklaces a huge wall of soft toys eco friendly. Toilets clean tidy. I mean what more could you ask for.
It was really quiet so plenty room to maintain social distancing. Staff were very friendly and polite. Our 18 month grandson loved the experience. It is, in my opinion a little pricey, especially for over 60s who are not yet 65. It was worth it though as a treat. Nice café. Tasty food, very clean and a nice ambience.
Lovely aquarium, fascinating to see all the tanks and set ups for the different species. Also have a seal hospital which is vital for the poorly seals! Good little shop in there too. Would recommend a visit if in the area, parking is £3 for all day.
Been today with 2 kids it's good but not worth the 40 pound entry fee. Only there for under 2 hours and had looked at everything to see already bur was waiting for the seal training which what got it extra star rating.
Took the family for the day to the aquarium. Surprisingly bigger than what it seems from the out side,, all tanks where stocked really well with a Verity of aquatic animals. Kids enjoyed it, mostly the seal show,
Beautiful aquarium, smaller than others but plenty to see. Went as a family and we all loved the seal show, seals and staff were amazing. Also everyone got to feed the giant fish.
It's definitely a fun place to come and my boys love it. However we came this week because it was shark week with a supposed event going on because of shark week which inspired us to come but there was nothing. So I was slightly disappointed. Kids loved it as usual though. Photo of their gorgeous sharks, just because.
Lovely fish and sea creatures. We turned up on a Tuesday morning at 11am. I was surprised that we weren't given a timeslot when we booked. The place was too busy. Far too many people for the size of the building. The amount of people pushing through, and causing bottle necks in the small corridors spoilt the visit, which has put me off ever going back. I'm sure it would be 5 stars if the people frenzy was sorted.
