For a weekend if wasn’t particularly busy. There was no queue to get in and we bought tickets at the desk, which wasn’t an issue. There is a charge for parking added in however. The aquarium is quite large and we found ourselves walking about aimlessly a few times, a map would have been useful. Other than that, there is plenty of exhibits and talks which are extremely informative, the staff really know their stuff. Overall I’d fully recommend visiting here, just give yourself enough time to get lost.
Went here on a date with my boyfriend and had such an enjoyable experience. There is so much to see from the crocodiles to the stingrays. The staff were very friendly and informative. A great outing for all ages. The highlight was definitely the shark tunnel.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes

What a wonderful experience we had at the aquarium. We bought our tickets the day before to ensure a smooth entrance. The car park has plenty of spaces including spaces for disabled visitors. The receptionist was polite and very helpful and clearly enjoyed her role. The aquarium itself was easy to navigate and there is a lift for those using wheelchairs like myself as well as for those customers less able and parents with pushchairs. There is so much to see and learn it was incredible. We went during the week to avoid being overcrowded but expect school trips during term time. However the children from the local schools both young pupils and older were well behaved. We watched the talk on the stingrays and the talk on the sharks which was presentes very well and it was very informative. There is an onsite cafe area and the larger groups, such as the school pupils, have a section away from the general visitors, which in my opinion is a good idea. Foodwise, I have to say it was nice and the prices fair. All in all we really enjoyed our time spwnt there and we would definately recommend a visit.
It's been years since I last visited, but it's still great. It was very busy because of the school holidays, but that's to be expected. Our 5yr old granddaughter loved it. The outdoor play area is also good, and the addition of a large outdoor picnic area is excellent, but not well signed. We had no idea it was there! Having said that, we ate in the cafe and were very happy with the quality of the food.
Went with my friend visiting from Mexico as he was fascinated by the small aquarium at Chester Zoo last year. Parking is easy but the barriers no longer work, after paying £27.25 to get in having to pay to park is very cheeky. Arrived about 11am on a Saturday, car park wasn't busy and there were no queues to get in. Lots of fish and a variety of exhibits although it is looking tired in parts with a few leaking tanks but all in all a good day out. The only thing that really let's the place down are the other visitors, lots of very young children and parents who don't watch then. Also in the Aquarium Theatre room Set out like a cinema with seating and a large glass window into the main tank so you can sit and watch and relax parents seem to think it's fine while people are sat trying to watch to go and stand at the front blocking the view with their kids. None of this is the kids fault just inconsiderate parents. The food at the cafe is nice and well cooked but as with all venues overpriced for what it is, but you can take your own lunch and eat there. All in all spent half a day as we went around twice, and would recommend a visit.
Really lovely place, fabulous to walk around, the variety of species is really quite astounding. If sensitive to children screaming and shouting, then earplugs are a great idea because they will and do.
Beautiful and peaceful place to spend time with family and friends There are lots of things to see and enjoy the time There is paid parking You might spend 3-4 hrs here exploring the nature The entrance fees are somehow high, however still worthed.
