Stopped here for an evening meal after a day out. They managed to fit us in on a bank holiday fab! Upon first impressions the pub appeared very cosy with a country village pub vibe. This was nice, upon entering the dining area we were greeted by the feel of a very cosy country room with very little noise. It was a nice atmosphere. The lovely staff members who where attentive to us all evening presented us with menus. I expected a classic pub menu, I was very wrong. The menu was a vast range of top meal options such as salmon, King prawns, Wellington absolutely fabulous for choice. The food arrived and as pictured I was absolutely blown away by the fantastic presentation and the quality was top notch. We were SUPER impressed by the food and service from this very traditional looking place. This is easily better than some of the top chain restaurants that I have visited and certainly had a fantastic team. Thank you.
Staying just a minute walk from here on holiday this week, I booked a while ago for Sunday dinner today. We were a party of 3 and were seated in the restaurant, got our drinks from the bar and were directed to our table. Service spot on, the young lad at the bar was friendly we ordered 3 beef dinners, a side of cauliflower cheese and an extra jug of gravy, the food arrived after only a short wait and was piping hot, the beef was cooked well done but also super tender which is impressive, plenty of veg, lots of gravy we ordered extra but could have managed without but it was delicious the cauliflower cheese was yummy, super cheesy. We also had a coke, cider and a bottle of Sauvignon blanc and the bill was around 65 pounds. It was worth every penny. Hoping to visit again later in the week, real gem of a place.
Jordan and David were so were so nice and accommodating. I have asked for a Pina Colada. Everyone so kind and friendly. I have stayed at the apartment and was very cleaned. The Jacuzzi and all the ustensiles worked perfectly. New by plenty of wanderful places to visit
I stayed here for one night with my fiance and our 2 dogs. From the second we entered we received a very friendly welcome and was treated like royalty throughout our stay. The food was excellent and very well presented and our room and the bar area was very clean and well furnished. The room had WiFi and a smart TV that allowed access to Netflix. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Four of us went to dinner where we found the staff were very friendly which was great. Three of the meals we have were nice as for the chicken I had, the starter had more bbq sauce than chicken wings and the home made deep fried chicken was fried within an inch of it's life, dry and the coating just fell off the chicken. If you go, play it safe and have the curry.
Stayed for 3 night with mine and my brothers family. Place was amazing, clean modern. Very nice helpful staff from across the pub. Post office shop and pub across road. Kids loved the jakuzzis. Recommend this place for anyone with kids. Thankyou Christian for an amazing last minute deal.
Even though the pub was full with customers we were given a warm welcome and showed straight to our rooms .. the room was well equipped just missed a tea spoon for the hot drinks which were provided.. the bed was really comfortable and slept like a baby and fully refreshed next morning. Breakfast was pre ordered the night before using the menu provided . Fully English was really nice and museli n yogurt was fresh and tasty .we also had patisserie freshly cooked and was scrummy.. they have a nice range of evening meals. Which have to book a table for we all had different meals and everyone of us enjoyed what we had.. with one member of our party having 2 desserts ..overall very nice stay and value for money
Fantastic pub in a great location with awesome food, service and entertainment. We were lucky to come across the Blue Lion after friends had also had a great experience there from a previous visit. You get a really friendly local feeling from the staff and the customers who are happy to share ideas of what to do in the area. They have a great menu and were more than happy to support specific dietary requirements. Would highly recommend along with the accomodation which is also available amazing.
Amazing food,the two young men on the bar and serving food were really polite. If you have the veggie burger you're going to need to wash your face after,it was delicious and massive. Really well priced.
We stayed in apartment 2 for two nights, had a lovely time everything was up to high standards! Everyone was so welcoming and very polite made us feel very welcome! Will definitely be returning,really enjoyed it highly recommend
