Food excellent, atmosphere excellent, service excellent, will be going back again
This restaurant is amazing! The food is fantastic and if there's something you fancy and it's not on the menu, they're happy to prepare it for you. The service is second to none. Attentive but not constantly hovering which can be annoying. The atmosphere is perfect with the right volume of background music. The lighting is just right and the decor colours fit perfectly with the theme of the restaurant. We have now been to the Elephant several times as a couple and as a family and we've decided, having tried others in the area, that this is the best Indian restaurant by far.
We booked for Christmas dinner, 16:00 seating. We enjoyed our food as usual, but the atmosphere was ruined by people complaining about late service. If you have an issue, take it up with the manager, don't shout across the restaurant and verbally abuse the staff, exploiting a small business for free food.
Late decision for 4 of us to eat here. Got a 7pm table no problem. We all tried something different, I had the chicken Naga Naga with mushroom pliau rice. Superb. Really rich but packed with flavour, good sized portions too. Good unobtrusive service and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back to sample some of the signature dishes.
Came here for Christmas dinner, never been out for Christmas meal so wasn't sure what to expect. I had chicken korma with onion bhajis and garlic naan, it was lovely. I'd have again. Down side was partners traditional Christmas dinner, wasn't the best, not very much on the plate either. Vegetarian options: Fair few options here, two out of our party of four had vegetarian options and enjoyed it.
The worst Christmas experience since the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami. 10 of us were unfortunate enough to book for Christmas dinner this year - and must have been really bad this year, because Santa definitely did not come... Intact a lump of coal from Santa's sack would have formed quicker from the carcass of a T-Rex than our mains did. We arrived promptly at 3.30pm and after ten/fifteen minutes we were taken to our table... No problems there. Popadoms took roughly an hour to arrive and starters - a mere 2 hours 15 minutes. At this point we asked to speak to the manager, but unfortunately he was more elusive than a sasquatch on the first day of hunting season. We made more trips to the bar than Lindsay Lohan, but still no sign, no apology, no explanation. Two members of our party had already put their taxi back an hour, when it got to 3 hours deep they Unfortunately had to leave - missing their Christmas dinner : At 3 hours 15 mins we all stood up to leave and suprise, suprise the manager appeared quicker than a tramp on chips. He first offered us two bottles of free house wine to stay... When we finished laughing, we told him we wanted the food for free or we were walking. Without offering an apology he reluctantly agreed, so we removed our jackets and sat back down. Seconds later the table next to us kicked off - from then on it was like a one star trip advisor domino rally. I have to say that the food was actually pretty good, but it didn't overcome the fact that by the time our food arrived our internal organs had caved in on themselves and Band Aid could have recorded a new charity song about our ordeal. The only time I would choose to eat here again is if I was on death row and I wanted to extend my life by a couple of days with my last supper.
Delicious food, lovely attentive staff and very reasonably priced Parking: Massive carpark, plenty of space even in a busy restaurant

The food in the elephant is top notch, been many times and never yet had a meal that I didnt like, top quality. Service A+++ everytime. Can not go wrong here, it's my favorite curry place, love itFood: 5/5
Liked it, lovely setting but disappointed by the lamb as was a bit tough and not fall apart like you want in a curry. Everyone else lived their food
