Rooms are small, but functional and good value for the price. Has all one needs to have a kip and get their head down.nnI wasn't a fan of having the shower and toilet in the same space as the shower leaked a little as it hasn't been turned off properly by my partner and going loo in the night to water all over the floor was an experience.nnIt's a good distance from the city centre and easy to find. We were able to order local takeaway and found some great places to eat within the Jewellery Quarter.nnDue to an error with the lift, our room was upgraded at no extra cost so we wouldn't have to walk up too many stairs. We were offered a ground floor room but politely declined incase there was someone within the need.nnWe ordered breakfast, they were good to go bags and contained coffee and juice/water, a croissant, apple, granola bar, yogurt/muffin and a pot of porridge.nnIt isn't a full English, but as the hotel doesn't have facilities to keep warm, we found it great.nnNoise wise, no issues from outside or others here.nnStaff were very friendly and welcoming each time we encountered them. Rooms are clean and the TV has a smart function so you can sign in various streaming platforms or you can watch free channels.nnWe finished a few shows on Netflix when we settled for the night.nnWould stay here again.
This hotel is accommodation only but they do have affiliated partners where you can get discounted food. Lovely bakery / coffee shop across the road.nnAlthough the room was very basic we thought it was more than adequate for our needs. We had a small apartment which had a small lounge, table, large TV and drink making facilities. Lovely comfortable bed and another large TV. Shower room and toilet. All clean and tidy.
Spot On.nClean, great room, comfy bed, great coffee machine, loved the style of the building and location. Coffee shop round the corner. Parking on the road outside. Checked in on my phone, even called the lift on my phone! 15 min walk from the utilita arena. 20 min walk into town. 10/10.
Staying at Bloc Hotel Birmingham was a big disappointment. The room was unbelievably small, not “compact” as advertised but genuinely claustrophobic. There was no kettle, no complimentary tea or coffee, not even glasses to drink water from. The bathroom felt unhygienic and badly designed: the shower was literally above the toilet, so water splashed everywhere and made the entire space wet and uncomfortable. Overall, it felt like being trapped in a tiny cage rather than a hotel room. Definitely not worth the price and I would not stay here again. Not even a small shelf to put your clothes . Only one bed table and only have access to the double bed from one side as it it’s stuck to the wall
Not a great experience. The lift wasn’t working, and no one offered to help carry our things upstairs. When I asked for a bed sheet change, I was told they don’t change them daily, and someone even came knocking on the door to repeat that. The room was smaller than expected, and there was no free tea or coffee in the room. Also, there’s no free parking you have to park on the side road and pay, though it’s free after a certain time. Overall, disappointing service and facilities. Would avoid.
