Having started here only recently I love my new role. The home has recently had a new manager and the management are proactive at ensuring the best for staff. Yes they expect you to work hard but there are rewards for doing so. Staff are recognised monthly and there are opportunities to to join in work activities and dos. They are eager to push you forward onto training and I have already completed a number of courses. The staff are incredibly friendly and it feels like a family. Everyone mucks in and everyone is committed to ensuring the best for our residents. Having moved new into this area of work, I cannot recommend Blackwater Mill highly enough.
I was appointed as the new manager at Blackwater Mill in October 2023 and have been impressed with the commitment of the staff team to make the home a comfortable and welcoming place for our residents to live. Their hard work is taking us from strength to strength and making a real difference.
As a new member of staff, it didn't take me long to find my feet as I found the home to be very welcoming and a great team of people to work with. I work as an activities coordinator and enjoy making a difference to the residents in my role.
Black water Blackwater that flows calmly without noise, tells the story of deep experiences even without the ripples reflected on the outside. My colleagues who served me the experiences of brotherhood of love. My seniors imparted new knowledge through calm advice. Blackwater has led many to a new life through the touch of love. This is a friendly and caring home where all the staff go out of their way to make residents and their families feel at home. I am happy to be part of this team .
Avoid at all costs! My father was placed here for respite care in August 2019. After weeks of neglect we finally got him rescued by paramedics and he Is now in hospital. He is covered in pressure sores that were left untreated for so long they were rotting away his skin. He also has an impacted bowel and hasn't eaten for a whole week. The staff tried to obstruct him from receiving medical care on numerous occasions. We and the paramedics and the hospital have reported this place and it's now under investigation.
