Incredibly patient and attentive staff, particularly Omar Mahmood who helped me find a suitable pair of walking boots.
Went in to look at buying camping gas and nikwax but approached by a lady in the store that came and stud straight next to us asked if needed help replied no for her to come closer gazing in our bag we already had and just spoke in a rude manner. Which made me just grab the gas and pay and walk out. Man on till was friendly and kind. But as for the woman she was out of order and really upset my shopping experience!
I didn't know much about sleeping bags but the knowledgeable assistant soon sorted me out and I left happy knowing I'd got a good product at reduced price. Hope they change their mind about closing this branch down.
A brilliant variety of outdoor clothing. Although stock wise they only had what was on the shelves due to the sale. Good prices aswell because of this. Though there were plenty of staff, they were far too busy talking to eachother, gossiping about other employees and what happened at the weekend rather than greet customers upon entry, deal with any queries or drive customer service. Because of this we shopped elsewhere and found some better service and some cheaper deals too.

Smashing shopping for outdoor kit. The shops future location is currently unclear. It may remain with refurbishment, or move a small distance, whatever, Blacks will continue providing enthusiastic customer service.
Has quite a lot crammed into a smallish space. Quite awkward to get around especially if you had a wheelchair or pushchar. They had some good quality outdoor wear on the ground floor and women's upstairs, although we didn't venture up there.
Very good service. Staff very helpful, went in to buy a pair of walking boots John was very helpful showing me how to tie the boots to support my ankles. Need a size up as my size felt tight. Also bought socks, I have them both on bedding them in and feel comfy. Good price to.

After looking on the Internet for purveyors of Swiss Army knives, I called in today. The chap who attended to me was very knowledgeable and very helpful. I’m not an outdoor type but was well impressed with the customer service and product knowledge. Thank you
