A mosque and Islamic Education centre in north-west Edinburgh.

Story

The Edinburgh Islamic Academy has been running for a number of years now with nearly 200 pupils attending throughout the week. The new premises will enable more children to benefit in addition to adult classes for men & women.

Facilities:
• Main prayer hall, 225m² - capacity for 300 men.
• Ladies prayer hall, 150m² - capacity for 200 women.
• Multi-purpose room, 100m² - suitable for exhibitions & lectures.
• Potentially 6-10 classrooms for education purposes.
• Potential Library & IT suite.
• Catering Kitchen and large dining area.
• Management office + 2 rooms for counselling services etc.
• Car parking facility.

Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Almighty Allah through the efforts and duas of the local community on 2 May 2011, the final £5000 of the Qard-e-hasana was paid off. The Mosque is now fully-paid for and completely debt free.


£79,000 of the loan had to be paid by January 2011, the £43,000 payment for July 2009 had been met. Please keep donating and encourage others to do likewise!

By the end of January 2009 £554,000 had been raised of which £150,000 was in the form of Qard-e-hasana (interest-free loan) & had to be repaid.
