FABULOUS Purchased my Scarpa Terra GTX ladies walking boots here a few weeks ago. A good “old fashioned” style service that you don’t seem to get any more. The lady was in & out with quite a few pairs of different boots & insisted that I kept trying different pairs until I got a perfect fit. She did not push anything on to me & she was so patient with me, she was fabulous. Thank you very very much for all your help. It was well worth the journey from Pontefract & I will be back for all my future outdoor wear My boots are so good too, like walking on air!
I have been going to this store for a number of years now. Always met with attentive knowledgeable and helpful owner or assistant. Excellent advice for what an outdoor enthusiast needs which could save you bags of time and money by getting what you really need and not something not appropriate that causes you problems and has to be returned for example. Expert and thorough footwear advice too to ensure you get the best fit and footwear for your needs. I really recommend them. Go local, it will pay in the long run.
Just went in to try & purchase another pair of boots the same as the ones I bought a few years ago. Had excellent service that time unfortunately the man who served me was so abrupt & rude I decided not to bother. Won't be going there again. The sign on your door was obviously not noticeable enough to be seen otherwise I would not have entered. Incidentally it is no longer mandatory to wear masks but if you have a different policy it would have been better to have met me at the door and politely asked me to wear a mask. Not say in the manner you did " if you want a fitting you'll have to wear a mask". I did use the sanitiser!?!? And there was no one else in the shop!! Not sure where they were as I didn't see them. Yes true it is and fortunately I have managed to find another supplier who have the boots I wanted so I won't be troubling you further.
I live in Bristol these days, but THIS is still the shop that I come to when I need technical gear & advice. They've only sold me two pairs of hiking boots in the last 15 years because the first pair lasted me 13. They know what they're talking about and all that they care about is giving you the right tool for the job. 11/10
Excellent service from very knowledgeable people, Steve and Carol. Have been buying boots for myself and my sons for years and they always take the time needed to make sure you get the right fit. Good range of walking outerwear and socks too. Highly recommended.
You are sold what you require not the highest quality and price.never heard of the boot I was advised to try, mid range fair price and brilliant. I was unsure if I was fed sales patter,so I read up. I was shocked how well known they are.As Steve the proprietor says, You don't want all the gear and no idea.A waste of money. I saved a packet and came out with more gear.By the way Steve is a member of the mountain rescue team.with three search dog's. He knows his stuff.
I visited Blackburn’s on a recommendation and the service and help there is second to none. I rarely write reviews, but when you get ‘old fashioned’ customer care it’s priceless. I came away with a pair of hiking boots, after having my feet measured, the first pair suggested, fitted like a glove he knows his stuff and I’ve walked all week in them and not had ‘One Pinch’, my boots are like old friends already Thank you Steve. Don’t go anywhere else
When buying boots for myself and my wife the personal service was excellent. My wife has very small feet and that was what took the time and we were never rushed. The after service was superb from Steve who is willing to spend the time so as to get the perfect fit. Will be going back for further equipment
Read the online reviews and went in search of boots that fit my long wide feet. Steve measured my feet and gave lots of advice, he really knows his stuff. Bought some well fitting boots at a comparable price to the big discounted companies and got much better service. A great result!
THE best place round here for outdoor wear. Steve sells you what you need not what you think you need. The best boots and don’t forget socks - they’re just as important, I’ve just walked the last 115 km of the Camino Frances and have NO problems with my feet at all. As for rucksack and poles, again the best advice and I’ve got the best gear which gave me everything I needed on my trip. Thank you Steve very much
