FREE ENTRY - DONATION POT BY THE DOOR. Visited Blackburn Museum on Thursday and it was a very pleasant surprise The Staff were brilliant and had lots of information on things on display. A GREAT PLACE TO TAKE THE CHILDREN. They literally have a bit of everything and the Greek coin display wall is fantastic! I enjoyed looking at the Art which they have. It's in excellent condition and very bright. The Egyptian section has some very interesting item but I think the Mummy and Mummy head should be returned to the Egyptian museum in Cairo. If your interested in 15th century books they have a good selection also a Torah Scroll from the 18th Century. A good section of the Museum deals with the industrial revolution and they house some large weaving machines. I I carn't believe it's free Make sure you visit and if your a family with kids get them down there for a wonderful day out! 10 out of 10 Blackburn Museum you deserve it and all the dedication and hard work you've put in are obvious to see! A big massive thank you!
Great museum and art gallery in Blackburn town centre. It's got a wide variety of exhibitions relating to the area and beyond, from Egyptian and Roman to modern day. I found the exhibition celebrating the 90th anniversary of Gandhi's visit to Darwen fascinating and had been completely unknown to me before seeing the exhibition.
A warm welcome. One of my Grandaughter favourite places. She loved exploring boxes particularly the South Asian box and dressing up.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This is a nice little museum and art gallery It was our first time visiting. I took my teenage daughters and 7 Yr old daughter in. They was amused. They have a good but small collection in there. We got round fairly quickly. But didn't expect to be in there longer than we was really. I'd say 30mins tops. Staff was friendly. We did go up to level 2. I'm not sure if we was suppose to be there or not. They have a lift for a pram or wheelchair. It didn't look like a big one. We would visit again.
Small, but with plenty to see. A well laid out range of exhibits which will have something for most people including children. Friendly and helpful staff.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

A very good museum and art gallery. The exhibitions are all very interesting. The staff are friendly and helpful and the kids enjoyed the arts and crafts table in the gallery. There are toilets and a gift shop too. Entry is free.
Was pleasantly surprised, when visiting the museum in Blackburn. I had a very good chat with a fine gentleman, I presume his name is Richard, a fine upstanding, knowledgeable gentleman indeed. While my mrs and daughter carried on with their visit with Jack our grandson. I had a very good chat with Richard. As we have both worked with looms in the past. I found him to be knowledgeable about the subject, and more than willing to share his and Blackburns past. A credit to the museum. Just a thought how about Blackburn Museum have a chat with Richard and get everything put on a DVD for future reference for generations to come.Ge has an awesome memory and the knowledge this gentleman has is vast.
