We were on the campsite just for one night with a tent, on our way to the southwest coast. The tent field is small but that was okay because there were just 3 tents, so enough space for us. The campsite is more focused on caravans and motorhomes, but that makes sense as it's in the name. The sanitary building is a bit old but it is clean and there are enough toilets and showers. They even have a hairdryer. The staff is very helpful and friendly. On the other side of the road there is a cute pub where you can have a good dinner.
Perfect stop over for early Channel tunnel departures. Simple, smooth check on, late check in if needed. Brilliant shop across the road and a lovely pub just down the road. Electric hook ups. Water facilities stock up x Restrooms: Showers and toilets Dog-friendliness: Dog walking areas provided
Great stopover for ferry. Easy access and good sized pitches. Always lots of bunnies to spot in the evening which my 6 year old daughter loves. Easy check in even if you're late
Staff very friendly but, the site is starting to look tired. We have stayed here many times but, usually for either a ferry or tunnel crossing. This time we thought we would stay for 3 days and explore the area and not stay in the ferry area. However, we still had one motorhome arrive after 10pm and several who left before 7am so we were no better off.
Booked a tent pitch for 2 weeks, during that time our tent was damaged several times, litter and trash throughout the lower portion site. The staff where apologetic but unsympathetic as we where simply told it would be forwarded to "head office". 6 months later and still no resolution, I'm still out of pocket for tent repairs and I still wouldn't recommend this site for anyone looking to stay for longer than a brief night.
We have stayed here a few times now, staff really friendly and welcoming only problems we encountered were due to the caravan and motorhome website which is dreadful at the moment and I am sure they will loose a lot of members if they do not sort it out. Back to Blackhorse Farm facilities very good plenty of hot water and nice and clean.
Clean well run site, handy convenience store at entrance and pub a 5 minute walk good bus service to Folkestone and Canterbury open all year round.
i have stayed a total of 3 nights in this campsite. because of the very high pricing i cannot recomend it. 1 was by myself on a bike with a small tent and it cost a total of almost 60 pound !!! no wifi, no electricity. and no official means to charge my e-bike i think that is a ciminally high price, and unacceptable in this age. i went here because of the connection with the ferry in Dover but ill never go here again. the only thing that made up for the pricing were the decent toilets and showers. although they looked very old, they were atleast clean and warm.
It’s near the Eurotunnel and the ferries. That’s the only positive I can say for the overnight ferry pitches and the reason for the one star. We were squeezed in with 3 other units in what can be best described as a carpark by a fast busy road. Toilets and showers looked 30 years old. It cost a shocking £33. Even £20 is pushing it. Caravan and motorhome club sites are mostly excellent. Avoid this one.
Ideal site for using the crossings to France, we have used this site on several occasions now. The wardens are friendly and helpful. Last stop was a couple of weeks back on the start of our holiday and the site was quiet plenty of pitches Pitches are gravel with grass and level. Toilet/shower blocks are exactly what you expect from C&MH clean and functional although we do always feel if the site was busy the ratio of shower to campers is very low. If you want to eat out defo try the JackDaw down the road rather than the pub opposite the site. Food is 1000 times better, atmosphere aswell. Always nice to see the spitfires and hurricanes flying over. Never complain about staying here.
