Story

We are a car mechanic and MOT centre based in Grays, Thurrock, Essex. We provide all your vehicle needs; from servicing and MOTs to body repairs - stone chips and small repairs to extensive damage.
We can also get your lease car back up to scratch ready for returning it to the hire company.
We undertake most mechanical repairs for all makes and models as well as undertaking specialist electrical diagnosis repairs for Peugeot and Citroen models.
We are also open every other Saturday for those of you that can't make it in during the week. Send us a message or call our landline to arrange a weekend slot for your vehicle.

I took my car in as I thought the brakes didn't feel right. They checked and road tested my car  but could not find any major problems and told me the car was safe. They didn't charge for this service. I have used this garage before for minor repairs, MOT'S and services and have always had a good and friendly experience. Great MOT centre. Very friendly and polite. Called up late Friday afternoon as my MOT got cancelled at Halfords one day before it was due and BL Autos got me in on late notice and my car was through its MOT by 10am. Mechanic was decent enough to reopen the garage on a Saturday afternoon to help fix an issue with my Lancer that would have been problematic for my drive back all the way to Scotland.  Very kind & friendly staff not forgetting the cat either.  Thank you for a quick and efficient service.  Asif

I called this MOT test centre and spoke with Patsy on the phone to book an appointment for my motorcycle's MOT. She was very nice and polite on the phone and was able to get me a next day appointment for 10am. It took me a while to locate their workshop because the road has been closed off and made into a one way street however if you are heading there, just head towards "Cement Block Cottages road, RM17 6ER" right beside Benfleet scrap co. I gave Patsy a call on the phone when I got lost and she directed me to their test centre. Tester for the day was a gentleman by the name of Bill. He was very friendly and he has a huge passion for motorcycles he even showed me his bike which had over 12,000 miles on it. The MOT test on my Motorcycle was swift and professionally done by Bill. There is nothing more customer orientated than having a Motorcycle MOT tester that loves his job and is also happy to have a chat with the owner of the motorcycle as he does the test. He pointed out various parts of my bike I should keep an eye on and we had a long discussion on how to keep myself safe on the road. All in all, I had a great experience and I would definitely be refering this place to other bikers.

Amazing service, the best. I'm in my 50s so obviously I have had a number of cars and my husband the odd van and we have gone through a number of local car mechanics, until we finally found Bill. Bill Lock is hands down the best no-nonsense car mechanic you will find. And in addition to inexpensive & fast car/van repairs - you can tell that he also is just a genuinely nice person.
