Story

The Bistro Edwinstowe
It goes without saying eating out should always be a pleasurable experience with an opportunity to discover varying dishes and flavours. How often have you wanted to enjoy a meal out, checked out the menu and found it to be full of dishes you can hardly pronounce or the restaurant prices are so expensive you almost need a loan just to settle the bill.
If you have a penchant for excellent quality food, cooked to order and not straight from a freezer into a microwave the Bistro at Edwinstowe has to be highly recommended.
The Bistro is owned by Chef Dariusz Kubicki who many will recognize from the acclaimed Café Bleu at Newark. Dariusz has a lovely warm personality and genuinely feels proud of the delicious meals he prepares. This isn’t fast food. After you’ve placed your order sit back relax and take time to enjoy the ambiance. The Bistro is definitely not a one in one out restaurant. The evening or lunch is there for you to savour and enjoy without a hefty price tag at the end. Fully licenced with a wide range of drinks whether your taste be a sparkling Prosecco or chilled draught beer or lager. Delicious luncheons are available from 12 noon onwards Wednesday through to Saturday. There’s even an all day breakfast. Traditional Sunday roast enough to satisfy the most hearty of appetites priced at only £9.95 and yes the Yorkshire puddings are home made. The good old British favourite steak night every Tuesday and Thursday only from £11.00.What can we say succulent and excellent value for money.
Maybe try the tapas or Polish speciality nights for something different. The evening menu although quite comprehensive is not massive, but who cares when the food tastes so good. It’s just difficult to decide what to order with choices such as slow cooked lamb shank to sirloin steak or chicken supreme, served with vegetables cooked the Dariusz way. Very tasty indeed.
If you have room for a dessert, these are gorgeous, forget about the calories just for once.
The little ones in the family are not forgotten with the Bistro offering a fabulous choice for children.
Gluten free and vegetarian dishes are always available.
At the end of the evening Dariusz personally comes round to introduce himself to his customers and askes how they enjoyed their meal. A great personal touch. To sum it up. Delicious food, friendly, relaxed atmosphere, realistic prices and local. The Bistro at Edwinstowe.

The food we had was fantastic, pork loin and steak were cooked to perfection and the polish cheesecake we shared was also lovely. Husband said the steak was the best he'd ever had. Staff were lovely to talk to and very accomodating. We will be visiting here again soon. Only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was that we thought the decor could do with upgrading a bit, but they created a nice feel to the place despite this. Shouldn't hold you back from visiting. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Superb food. Very well cooked. Visited by the chef after we had finished eating to check whether we enjoyed the food. Highly recommended!

Lovely intimate quaint place. Service great, food lovely (Sunday lunch), great price and value for money for such lovely food. Only point to make was the roast beef, my husband ordered medium rare, which was perfect, but another ordered well done, which was I little tough, suspect the roast slices had been heated further. But would still go again
