Cute little Cafe, we stopped on our tour. I got a mocha, friends got tea. Tea was very hot and they seemed to enjoy it. The only complaint was the spice cake was a wee bit dry but the sponge cake LOOKED moist and delicious from sneaking peaks at others plates . Pet friendly, which I enjoyed since I don't have a pet myself. I asked and was allowed to pet one of the dogs overall good experience!
Had a quick lunch during a run out to beautiful Culross. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. Food was lovely. Please be aware that there is a flight of stairs to gain access to the cafe and these may make access difficult for those who cannot manage them.
Small homely place for lunch good food nice staff very busy outside seating as well, dog friendly be really nice in the summer. Small gift shop down the stairs.Food: 4/5
Great little cafe. Delicious coffee and cake and were kind enough to let our dog in too. Could definitely recommend the carrot cake!
Wonderful cafe. Friendly and warm staff. Very tasty sandwiches! We had a braw time here. Our dog Walter rates this place highly too - he was very happy when one of the staff gave him a slice of ham!
Nice cafe - clean and airy. However would not recommend the food. We both had stovies and it was like eating bowls of salt. The pleasant waitress serving us went on a break - the rest of the staff were chatting and had no interest in customer service at all. Dirty dishes from stovies left on table and second part of our order didn’t appear so after 15 minutes cancelled the rest of our order paid and left.
Absolutely lovely. Very comfortable and warm environment. Waiters are very polite, something that many places lack nowadays & most importantly, they serve you in under 10 minutes. Excellent food. A must go if u visit Culross.Food: 5/5
After having a stroll round culross we popped in for coffee and cake. What should have been an enjoyable relaxing experience was marred by the actions of the lady who I presumed was manager. When we arrived the seating area where the kitchen is was busy so we sat in the other room. We didn't notice staff around and was unsure if it was table service or not. However this lovely waitress was about to sit down for her break . I asked what the format was. I didn't want to disturb her but she so kindly took our order . Her kindness was rewarded by this "manager" reprimanding her for serving us as it was not our turn , someone else was first. We were then kept waiting a bit for our coffees to arrive. We then realised a commotion was happening in the other room. Some friends with children were in. They were chatty but not unreasonable. This manager had a go at them . The families left abruptly only for one poor mother, quite clearly upset ,apologizing to the customers for her children. This was appalling that these paying customers were treated so badly. We sat for the rest of our visit feeling so bad for the waitress and the poor families that left we just wanted to leave too. To be fair the food ,coffee were good and all other staff were friendly. After our visit I looked up other reviews. I see a pattern in behaviour from this woman. We won't be back !
Due to the current situation, this little cafe was the only place in Culross with availability without booking. We are happy we got to know this place. Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of tables taken as well... We had a couple of sandwiches and a flatbread and they were good. So was the service.
A free for all for tables, in a place with three entrances and limited options. Tables weren't cleared or clean. Serving staff generally disinterested and rude. More than enough of them to handle the floor but were all camping out behind the counter. We were left waiting at a table to order for 15mins.. so we went up to counter to try and order but were ignored by staff who could be overheard just chatting about TV shows. when they finally decided to speak to us they told us that the kitchen had closed - would have been useful information when we told them we were waiting for a table. Came here due to having enjoyed it in the past on visits to Culross but was sorely disappointed by the experience.
