Nice ice-cream. Bare, robotic inside to cafe. An unwelcoming atmosphere. Like queueing up for school dinners. No atmosphere. Comes across as a money machine - nothing more. No friendliness. No customer rapport.
Great Park. Best to go in the early afternoon. Be sure to grab a bag of bird food from the park centre. It's only a pound and better than giving the ducks bread. Also, take some fruit and nut mix for the squirrels. They get ready close. My daughter loves them
The Visitor itself has excellent staff who go beyond the call of duty to help. Friendly and professional. It's a good idea to have had events - gallery exhibitions - next to the Cafe and Visitor Centre. It shows the talent of local artists and is an added interest with free entry.
Love this park , grew up next door so a part of my DNA, really pretty around the lakes .
Very interesting for those of us who have never visited the area before. Didn't know there was so much history here, particularly the link with central park in New York? It made the walk around the park much more meaningful and enjoyable? Even on a dull winter's day. The cafe was a welcome feature and we enjoyed lunch here. Toilets clean but fitted with those hand dyers which struggle to blow up a paper bag! A pleasant surprise though, and we would like to return in the spring when everything is coming to life.
Lovely dog friendly, fab coffee and ice cream ,sat outside in the sun ,ab service ,busy so had to wait ,not to long though
Visited yesterday with the family. Considering it was a nippy December day with the odd drizzly rain spell there was a constant stream of people heading to the cafe. A modern looking cafe. Medium sized meals. The battered fish was lovely. Had a lovely ice cream aswell. The other part of the centre was shut but still plenty of visitors milling around. I'm sure in summer it will be a bit of a central hub. Visited again today 3rd August 2019. Lots of people milling around enjoying the lovely weather. Cafe staff more than happy to help when my daughters drink wasn't quite right. Great visit
If you're new to Birkenhead Park ‍ & after enjoying the beautiful naturewhich it has on offer as well as the lake with it's Swiss Bridge & clever deceiving perspectives. Making it appear more as a meandering river through the centre of the lower park. It even has a Roman Boathousewhich has an incredible Arts & crafts mosaic flooron its bank. Then after taking in all of these sights, smells & sounds you might find yourself in need of some refreshment . And it's here just behind the lower park lake, next to the bowling greens that you'll find the modern looking from behind Visitors Center. Where you can find out more about the parks history , as well as upcoming events & fitness courses that are ongoing in the & which are especially popular in Summertime . Or you can just get a & chill outside on the outdoor seating or one of the picnic benches & watch the Parklife . Plus infront of the Visitor Centre' is the beautiful smelling & multi coloured 'Garden of Hope' a mixture of roses & bedding plants of all colours shapes & sizes. And a great addition & attraction for those going the Park & Visitor Centre' during the summer months when it's in full bloom ‍‍‍
Nice lunch good coffee and very friendly helpful staff lots of information in the visitors centre really enjoyed our visit
Lovely spot for after a dog walk. Cafe is nice, good capacity inside and out. Ice cream is excellent but not the best for lunch. Very limited options and the food tends to be extremely greasy. Cheap and cheerful. Dogs aren’t allowed inside but you can sit with them outside. Not the cleanest of places. Staff were super friendly and helpful!
