One of my favourite coffee places in Scotland! The coffee is divine they sell it on premises. The cafe has a Scandinavian style, very minimal with wooden details. We visited twice while on Skye once for takeaway and once to sit in and the experience was the same! We also tried the energy balls which were delicious. They have a selection of pastries and cakes as well as different kombuchas and soft drinks. They also serve breakfast/brunch. You can find Birch on Isle of Skye in Portree and also in Inverness when visiting Scotland and you should definitely give it a go!
The Birch in Portree is definitely a special breakfast experience. The people and the ambience are wonderful. Coffee, cake, porridge, toast and scrambled eggs - simply great.
Fantastic breakfast & coffee. If you’re staying in Portree, don’t miss Birch. You cannot go wrong with any of their sourdough dishes & the coffee is wonderful. Perfect place to fuel up in the morning before touring Skye.
Came here three times while in Skye, so that should say something. Great little cafe with good coffee and even better breakfast! Not a ton of options for food but it’s definitely a coffee first cafe, and as a coffee lover I was well pleased! Plus the murals outside are beautiful.
Birch cafe was by far my most favourite cafe in Scotland. The coffee was amazing, and the scrambled eggs on sourdough with chorizo, chilli, and Parmesan are a must! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place to visit if you're in Portree.
