Bought a Whyte t130s from here and wow. Not only was it set up for me right there and then, but the owner ensured I knew what I was doing. So 5 stars for an amazing customer service and a brilliant bike - I will 100% be coming back :
I have a fairly expensive carbon-framed Scott MTB which I'd bought from Evans who subsequently lost their Scott franchise, and the bike needed to be serviced at a Scott dealer, so I obviously wanted it to be done properly. I was impressed by the google reviews and even though it was a 20m trip each way it was well worth it, Paul assessed it pretty much on the spot when I brought it in and told me it needed a new chain, and they later discovered the bottom bracket was worn out. It cost me more than the very reasonable £45 service but I really didn't care, I left knowing my bike was back up to scratch and I will be back for the next service, no question. They also got hold of a Scott owners manual for me which Evans had never provided so I just feel they are top notch and deserve recognition. It's not often I say that as mediocrity is everywhere these days.

GREAT SERVICE. Within 10 minutes of ordering the bike, they rang back to confirm the order and to arrange a time when to pick it up. When I arrived I was shown straight to the bike and was told everything I needed to know. Will definitely be buying from Bikes 'n' Gear again.
I’ve got a Specialized Roubaix road bike that I’ve had since 2016. Literally rode it into the ground. I asked for a full service and for Paul to “try” and bring it back to a good condition.. Paul advised me what needed doing and the cost involved so no surprises. It’s literally like a brand new bike , I can honestly say it rides as good if not better than the day I bought it!! All parts, cables, bearings, cassette, chain, gearing, brakes etc have been excellently fitted and runs extremely smoothly 10/10 - thanks Paul worth every penny
Paul has been a great ambassador for using your local bike shop. He is personable and knowledgable and takes the time to get things absolutely perfect as an experience, when purchasing a bike and the on going service from bike and gear. So thank you to Paul and the team.
Dropped in asking if they could take a quick look at my bike as a bit had fallen off the handlebars whilst I was out on a long cycle and they said they were too busy to even have a look for 30 seconds. There was no one else in the shop. Pretty unhelpful really and not what I would expect from a local bike shop. I’m assuming it wasn’t the owner, as I had read from reviews that he is great and customer service is always bang on.
Excellent service from Paul!! A friend had used him before and suggested for me to go to his shop as i was in the market for a new bike. Purchased a Scott Foil 10 di2, first contact was via email and Paul was really helpful and was up for a deal, so i happily paid my deposit after we agreed a price. Went to collect the bike, Paul put my own purchased wheel set on with no hesitation, the fitting was excellent and much more detailed than the likes of Evans Cycles and other big companies. Took the bike home and out for a quick ride, found a slight issue with the rear brake, Paul came out to my home the very same night to tweek it for me as i live 30 miles away. Service like that is hard to find. Personable, very professional and knowledgeable. I am over the moon with the whole process and will happily make the 60 mile round trip for a service and to purchase my next bike!! If you dont mind travelling i highly recommend Paul and Bikes N Gear, it is well worth it for the extra service you get!
Rolled to Bikes ‘n’ Gear when my friends chain snapped. They were very helpful; quickly put a new chain on and gave us some great advice about the bike which we had recently bought second hand. Would definitely recommend.
