This Indian restaurant is near where we are staying in Bath. Very good quality food everything is very fresh and tasty. We also had onion bhaji but I forgot to take a photo. We had chicken korma, mushroom jeera rice and bombay aloo. Very good service.
Great Genuine Indian food with reasonable price. Amazing ambience with Bollywood songs. Please try this once if you are looking for authentic Indian taste. we have visited this just by chance on 16th June 2021 and were amazed by the food quality and taste. The restaurant is very clean and tidy. Staffs are very humble and welcoming. Definitely give this a try, you will not be disappointed.
The food was delicious. The paneer was crispy and the lassis delicious. I lf I had to, I would only take away a star due to the noise levels which were very irritating after some time. Otherwise it was a lovely restaurant!
Our starter came with chef hair topping. Being no fussy we asked the owner to remove only the hair and we carried eating the rest.Because lack of space the owner was in rush to get your finished within one hour from your arrival, at one point he came and started to move our forks and spoons before told we not finished yet. We thought to ask for dessert and tea , but his rush made us to leave and have the dessert and tea at Bath city centre.
Very ordinary and standard Indian food. Around £13 for a main, £4 for rice/nann about £20-30 per person with drinks and starters. Friendly waiters, good service and atmosphere. Decent presentation and plating ideal for photos. Menu is available on their website.
Bath’s best Indian restaurant! This restaurant is my go to place with friends. They serve the best Indian dishes, especially the curries and Masala dosa. The staff is very friendly. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Indian food. P.S: They gave complimentary dessert on my birthday:
We both ate here on a Monday lunchtime when visiting Bath for the day. We both ate the Laal Maas. It was superb and everything we wanted. I cook Laal Maas at home and love it. Unfortunately, we can never find it in Indian Restaurants - even the Rajasthani ones. So it was a really great find. This will now be our go to Indian restaurant whenever we come to Bath! Seriously, if you like a proper authentic curry with excellent service and friendly staff visit this place. It is only a few minutes extra walk out of the centre of Bath near the Train Station but well worth it. Thanks to the Staff for your food and welcome!
I had a chicken korma without nuts as I have a nut allergy, with pilau rice. Delicious. My husband had the Dosa Masala, with sambar and coconut. Equally delicious. Excellent service in a happy welcoming environment. And it was busy! Followed by a Rasmai. Delicious. Thank you to all at Bikanos. Vegetarian options: Absolutely plenty of veggie options Kid-friendliness: There were no children there in the evening! But I am sure they are made welcome. Wheelchair accessibility: Ok Dietary restrictions: I have a nut allergy. The butter chicken and the chicken korma had nuts but they could offer me the Korma without nuts.
The layout is a bit snug. The toilet leaves a lot to be desired, being a little room behind the bar, having to stand in the way of the staff access from their basement. Service was a bit chaotic, but it was busy. Had to ask several times for drink. Food was nice, but the peshwari naan wasn't good. It tasted nice, but they used those cheap candied cherries insted of sultanas. I couldn't work out why it was pink inside, then I caught a bit of the tough outer skin of those cherries. That was a poor effort on that let the meal down. Fancy using those in a peshwari naan!
Pros: good price, tasty food, good portion sizes, cosy atmosphere, friendly service Cons: slow service, unclean & rundown in some parts of the building, limited menu On arrival we were seated slowly and it took 20 minutes to get our drink order in since there appeared to only be one front of house staff member. He was very friendly but would have been nicer to be seated with a drink a bit sooner. The food was very tasty and with a perfect quantity, which was the main basis for my rating. The building was ok, but there were parts that looked run down, required cleaning and the toilet was very unpleasant. If I was in bath again I probably wouldn’t return here as it’s not a restaurant Eid be dying to return to, but for locals I imagine it’s a very solid choice.
