Came across this lovely place whilst cycling up the canal. Beautiful gluten free cake and coffee so thank you for catering for Coeliacs. Perfect chilled out rest stop watching the canal goings on.
The place is very pleasant although the rather heavy music choice and huge tv's on the walls don't make for relaxed dining. Had to wait quite a while for our meals as it was quite busy but the food was good quality pub grub and there was a good choice of dishes. Worth a visit.
Visited with my wife and two friends for lunch, first time . Found it to be a very clean, warm and with a congenial atmosphere. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with a smile on their faces. Nothing too much trouble. A good variety on the menu. I had chilli con carne, wife had gammon, friends had rib eye steak and lamb shank respectively with all the trimmings. All very well presented and adequate portions and all very reasonably priced. Set alongside a canal with a terrace, would be a perfect dining experience in summer. Would definitely recommend this establishment.
Staff friendly, service very good. Food has always been excellent. Really enjoy the different terraces, patio etc and the view of the canal lock.
16/10/2022 Another good lunch. Fish and chips were really good with crispy batter. Friendly staff. Lots of beers etc. Back for another Sunday lunch. Another turkey dinner. Really good again Nice meat and vegetables. Returned for Sunday lunch. Really good the roast Turkey is a work of art and very tasty. See picture. Recently refurbished pub. Nicely done so it's comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. We enjoyed 3 lovely meals. I had the beef pie which is excellent. Really tasty and good chunks of meat. Definitely will be back soon. Worth a visit.
We had an excellent family lunch here. The food was excellent, the venue attractive and comfortable. The service was outstanding. Andy couldn't do enough for us. We were with our 13 month old grand daughter and everything we needed was promptly attended to. Such a friendly welcome, we'll definitely be back.
We hadn't visited this place before, but wanted somewhere different to try in the local area. I visited with my husband and parents. It was BH Monday, so it was much quieter than I had expected for a lunch time. The decor was very tasteful and of a good standard. The place was clean, I didn't visit the toilets. I ordered the cheese pie with chips, the others had the steak and ale pie, chicken burger with fries and a few portions of onion rings. The cheese pie was very tasty and the portion sizes were great. We were all pleasantly surprised by how good it all was! The bill came to approx £90 with 1 alcoholic drink each. I would definitely return, maybe for an evening meal, or when the sun is shining to sit outside beside the canal.
After a lovely canal side walk had an enjoyable meal in the restaurant, good lunch menu, not too expensive, friendly staff and good service.

Impromptu Sunday lunch and it was delicious, fantastic service and lovely atmosphere. A choice of roasts with a yorkshire pudding included as standard whichever meat you choose. Hearty portion and absolutely delicious. Thank you chef and thank you Julie for your hospitality.
