I can't speak to the other reviewers but I had a good experience with the Bexhill Hire Company. They don't work out of a shop as such, the bikes are kept on a Mews and you need to call ahead to make sure that you and one of their team can coordinate a pick up time. Not something I was used too but it all worked out fine. Hired a bike for three days and had a lovely time riding it around. I was given a lock to go with it and a helmet. Not being an experienced cyclist the owner actually insisted that the helmet I'd picked out wasn't going to fit correctly and offered me a new one which I thought was a nice touch and good service. If I ended up back in the area again I'd be happy to use them.

15 Wickham Avenue is a wedding shop, it is not a bike hire shop. When l went to the advertised shop there were no bikes, just wedding gifts !!!!? Luckily there was a bike shop across the road.

Bexhill Bicycle Hire take the view that you must be a tourist, and will never be coming back, so there is no need to give you good service and they are quite happy to rip you off. You'd be better off walking than giving these guys your money.
