BEWARE of BEWLEY HOMES!! Great when selling the house to you, staff are polite and extremely helpful, nothing is too much bother BUT BEWARE, the after-sales service is appalling. There is such a staggering lack of care from the customer care team that it becomes very frustrating. It's a little bit like trying to make a claim from an insurance company...at every single opportunity they'll relinquish responsibility. I have literally 100s of photos of poor workmanship and probably 100s of emails trying to get resolution. Honestly, if there is any other house you could buy, buy it.. I'd NEVER buy a Bewley home again.
I purchased a 2 bedroom semi detached house from Bewley and have been extremely pleasantly surprised at the quality of the build throughout- I was nervous about a new build given the horror stories you hear. The development is set in a beautiful peaceful semi-rural location. There were a few minor snags which the team addressed promptly and thoroughly. I see myself in this home for the next 10 years or more and would have no hesitation recommending Bewley to friends or family.
Absolutely disgusted with Bewley homes. I could literally spent all day explaining mine and my husbands experience so i will make it as brief as possible. I would agree that their pre sales was amazing! But their after care is appalling .. continue reading my life story on how Bewley have stitched us one for 6 months and counting... We bought and moved into a 2 bed ground floor apartment 6 and a half months ago and within a week had mould going all up the back of the skirting and even furniture. We are still dealing with these nearly 7 months later due to Bewley's negligence; to the point where we had to move into temporary accommodation whilst it is 'dealt with'. Day 3 - We reported it Day 7 - We put it on our snag list We were continuously told to open our windows and that it was normal. We even we sent a brochure about damp in our new home to reassure us that it is normal ... in the brochure it said "mould and damp in your new home is not normal." I consulted my dad and many of his friends as they are in the building/housing trade, We were sent the site manager weekly to 'check' the situation ... nothing was done. The mould continued to grow back bidaily. Week 6/7 We were given an industrial dehumidifier with a builders bucket and tube. For over a month the bucket was full within a working day. We repeatedly requested damp tests but were explicitly told "this is impossible, we can't do damp tests and an externals company's numbers would not calibrate to ours." Week 10 - We were visited by some kind of manager and told we need a damp test. The damp test readings were very low - I quickly discovered by observing the damp test and by getting an friend to do one that the damp test was carried out incorrectly resulting in false/low moisture readings. Week 17 i think - our complaint had finally been escalated. We were told that the issue was that the skirting was put on wet from being in the rain and wasn't dried out before being put back on. Soon after I consulted my dad and other builders who explained this couldn't be possible. additionally the damp readings where coming from higher up the wall. I agreed that the skirting needed removing but it is to be left off whilst we continue to investigate. I ad maintained the mould fairly well by continuously wiping with mould spray every day/every other day. However when the back of the skirting and the wall was riddled with mould both yellow/dusty mould and black mould. Due to the incompetence of Bewley Homes we naturally asked for an external Surveyor to come and investigate the issues further. Weeks of fighting later, Bewley still refused. I've lost count of the weeks now - Bewley still refused to get a Surveryor but agrees to get Action Dry and mould and damp specialist to investigate. Action Dry were very helpful and did an extensive report. They found significantly high moisture in the property and advised the the plasterboard up to a metre high is removed as well as all of the flooring. The advised that all of the furniture will need to be removed and that large dehumidifiers and heated fans should be placed in the main areas bedrooms/living room and hallway. followed by regular monitoring/damp tests and reports. When dried sufficiently the property should have a specific kind or scrub treatment and air purifier treatment to improve the air quality - we've been living in poor mould riddled air quality! By this point We advised Bewley that we would need to be given alternative accommodation during this time as it is not fit for living. As far as we were concerned Action Dry were carrying out the works but it turns out they were not. Not only were they not but they got 1 tiny dehumidifier and small electric heaters - 6 of them which are all currently in my apartment switched on but have all overheated and are therefore producing no heat. Have you got fed up of reading yet... my fingers hurt! .... i have exceeded my limit ... there is much more to be said but i think this mostly speaks for itself. We are still in temporary accommodation...
Absolute disgrace. Do not buy. Underneath the showy facade they Bewley Homes have cut so many corners that it is risible. Walls so thin you can hear the neighbours "using" the bathroom. Having to glue everything to the painfully thin plasterboard otherwise it just falls off the wall Shelves, curtain rails etc. Poorly fitting doors. Poor quality bathroom fittings that had to be replaced within months. Awful, awful awful. Profits before any quality. Buyers BEWARE...
The sales staff and site manager have been so helpful when my mother purchased her new home, very impressed with the house and the way the whole transaction and move was dealt with. Thanks Bewley!
Beautiful houses and amazing customer service. I felt I was given the VIP treatment when I visited one of their developments and they couldn't do enough for me.
Bought a beautiful home this year from Bewley, would highly recommend.
