Partner has several medical conditions one of which is life threatening. He had a scan at Redditch hospital last evening & technician there said results would be at the Medical Centre this morning. He phones to get a telephone appointment with his doctor to discuss the results & is told to phone back on Wednesday ie almost a week after the scan, & with no guarantee that the doctor will have any appointments available on that. This is absolutely disgraceful - looking back on this review page there are many complaints of the same problems going back over 6 months with the Medical Centre feebly blaming staff shortages, lack of resources etc etc and nothing us changing. What is the point of the hospitals pulling out all the stops to get scan results back quickly if the stupid appointment system used by the Medical Centre is obviously such a total shambles. Let's hope my partner's condition doesn't deteriorate while they sit playing with their idiotic system

I find this place quite difficult to deal with. Having a long term condition it was really useful to be able to book an appointment in the future with doctor of choice. Made it far easier to fit in with work commitments. That facility has been withdrawn and replaced with on the day telephone slots only. Doesn't work for me. Not sure why a large new facility was required now there are so few patients actually seen on any day. Someone didn't think that through. A call centre on an industrial estate would be cheaper with a small high street consulting office for occasional face to face may be better use of resources. Routine communication is really hard. Everything is done by one way letter and not particularly helpful reception staff. Potentially a smaller new medical centre would have allowed some investment in vaguely 21st century working practices. I haven't seen any sign of the ability to offer additional local medical services which was one of the significant arguments for the new centre.

I am 86 years old and suffer badly from the effects of Asbestos-is, being the shadow of the man I once was I have the need to have a carer which is being done by my daughter who lives in Bewdley. When moving to my daughters I moved from a Kidderminster Medical Centre to the Bewdley Medical Centre in Dog Lane. Previously I had suffered a bed sore that had persisted from the need for 4 times in hospital which were spread over a 4 month period and having to lie awkwardly or just sit in a chair all day that also applied when at home recovering from the hospital visits. While at Kidderminster I had a visit once a week if lucky and then in and out in a flash. Since I moved in with my daughter and established at the Bewdley Centre the visits were twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays they were so thorough and the bed sore has soon gone. Added to the above when my daughter orders replacement medication the response is ALWAYS efficiently dealt with. I must comment on the staff that has attended me as they have all been pleasant and very professional. Julie the Matron Anna Lois Lisa and Charlotte. I have been very fortunate also as I have had cause to call a doctor out a few times the first time was Julie the Matron who reported back and here very prompt and soon resolved my problem at that time.My other 2 visits were by Dr Gate and at my age 86 I have had cause to visit many doctors and Dr Gate ranks right at the top with the best. I can only end by sending my thanks and gratitude to Bewdley Centre as they with their service and professionalism have made my struggle with my breathing easier to bear. Thank you all so very much

I only have an enquiry about a cancer screen, have been trying to phone for over an hour, I suppose forget the phones and drive over to the surgery.

Since living in Bewdley I have needed medical help on 2 occasions and both times I have been seen by a Doctor when I needed and received very good treatment...in one case an issue that had troubled me for years was finally sorted out . The new medical centre is bright and lovely and the receptionists Ive dealt with have been friendly. Im sorry to read of the above persons experience which would have felt horrid..but I really cant fault my experience. best regards
