Always a fantastic place to visit. A friend and I went on the Roof Tour, yesterday. This was amazing and gave a whole new dimension to this beautiful, historic building. At £11.50, the ticket was amazing value for a 90-minute tour.nHaving attended Beverley Grammar School in the 1970s, the Minster has always had personal connections for me. We had Founder’s Day services there every year, as well as the annual Christmas Carol concert. I remember being ‘volunteered’ to undertake one of the readings in this impressive building.nI also have a great grandfather who is named on the East Yorkshire Regiment memorial no known grave.nA gem in Beverley’s long history.
Absolutely stunning. Christmas tree festival is so beautiful. Proper historical wonderful building, you have to see it to believe it!
Love to see historical churches. Paid £2 to use camera, which goes to running of Minster. Cost is thousands to keep structure in good condition. Lady volunteer knew a lot of useful information
Beverley Minster is an awesome place to visit. The architecture is amazing and the detail in the stonework and stained glass windows is something else. It’s peaceful inside, and you can really feel the history of the building. The staff and volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable, happy to answer questions or share stories about its past. It’s free to enter, but donations are welcomed to help maintain the place. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.
We were met by the very lovely Shirley. What an amazing woman. She was so helpful and informative and with a great sense of humour.nnShe told us the history and pointed out a few quirky things within the building.nnThe building outside and inside are both beautiful, and it’s certainly worth a visit. Thanks again to Shirley, who made us feel so welcome.
