A disgusting shop that is housed in two tatty windowless units in a back street industrial estate. The staff are the rudest people I have come across. How they ever manage to sell anything at all is beyond me. They regularly have tanks of diseased fish which they will quite happily sell on to anybody without the experience or knowledge to spot the problems. Any advice given invariably ends up with a requirement to buy expensive off the shelf treatments from them. This place should have been shut down years ago it gives the trade and the hobby a bad name.
An absolute disgrace of a place. If fish keeping is your new hobby don't ask these people for advice, they sell you all sorts of stuff that you don't need then when you find out you don't need it and try to take it back for a refund they say they don't do refunds no signs to say so though. Very rude and disrespectful people I don't know how they still have a business to run AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS
smug, condescending shop owners who treat you like an idiot. dont get me started on the poor conditions of the livestock. the tropical and cold water fish are even worse than those in pets at home. I feel sorry for all those poor animals. if you want fish that are healthier and treated more humanely, go to dobbies or maidenhead aquatics
Betta Aquaria is completely the wrong name, it should be called, Worst Aquaria, my first encounter was a grumpy old man trying to sell me cheap rubbish chinese heaters for £30. Me and three family members keep Tropical Fish, ALL of us have had problems with fish dying within a few weeks, I have paid for 6 fish, but received 5, when I asked the woman who catches the fish why, I was looked at like I was an alien. The plants are ripped out of their tanks, so you never get roots. Sorry, this place is a joke.
I have been in the marine business for atleast 10years setting up my own coral/fowlr/frag tanks.i have sucsessfully kept moorish idols in captivity for upto 5 years plus.i came in the store with my 5 year old son and we saw a beautiful emperor angelfish.i decided to purchase this specimen and placed it in my tank after acclimating correctly.it ate everything from mysis to brineshrimp and also flakes but mysteriously it stopped eating after a week and started hiding.2 weeks later i found it dead and therefore rang the hairy old man at betta were i purchased it from.he harassed me over the phone abusing me by using words such as you delusional aquatic fool.i then drove to his shop with a few lads.we left betta aquaria with a few fish tanks and a new emperor angel.if he give me the refund things wouldnt have escalated to auch an extent.if you happen to pop by you may notice the old man has a change in appearamce and personality.he has o ring seals from a cheap heater permanently attached to his eyes and he is unfortunately limping nowadays.
First class service from the little old dear.....can't believe people on here have went and abused these poor old people that have been in business for years and I'm sure they know there stuff....why would you take a few lads down to terrorise 2 old people like that? Wish I had been in the shop when yous had arrived
BOUGHT A £70.00 FISH TANK FILTER IN OCTOBER WHICH LEAKED WHEN SET UP. I THOUGHT IT WAS ME JUST BEING A NOVICE. WHEN I FIDDLED ABOUT WITH IT A BIT AND OVER A DAY OR TWO IT STOPPED & I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST SETTLING IN TO BEING USED. SOME WEEKS 5APPROX LATER I WENT TO CLEAN IT OUT FOR CHRISTMAS COMING AND ISOLATION VALVES LEAKED AGAIN AND SO DID SEAL AROUND THE LID. I MESSED LIKE BEFORE AND IT STILL STAYED THE SAME SO I STOOD IT IN A TRAY THINKING ILL TAKE IT BACK. I THEN GOT DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER AND JUST MANAGED TO TAKE IT BACK TODAY AFTER EMPTYING TRAY MANY TIMES BETWEEN CHEMO VISITS TO HOSPITAL. I WAS TOLD ITS LEAKING BECAUSE I HAD REMOVED OR I HAD POPPED OFF THE "O" RING SEALS WHERE IT WAS NOT LEAKING FROM & IT WAS MY FAULT AND TO PROVE IT I ME! SHOULD SEND IT BACK TO MANUFACTURER!. STRANGE HOW WHEN I LOOKED AND POINTED OUT TO THE OLD GUYS EYES THE "O" RINGS WERE THERE!!!! THAT BLEW THE FIRST 15 MINS OF HIS PATRONIZING TONES OUT OF THE WATER BUT THEN HE SAID ITS NOT DOWN TO HIM TO DO ANYTHING WITH IT ANYWAY AND I SHOULD SEND IT BACK TO MANUFACTURER ANY WAY AS I NEVER BROUGHT IT BACK WITHIN 2-3 WEEKS!!!! WHICH HE & THE OLD LADY WERE SHOUTING " THAT IS A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME!" AFTER THAT I ME NEED TO GO BACK TO MANUFACTURER. I ASKED HOW LONG THAT WOULD TAKE AND HE SAID SEVERAL WEEKS!!! I ASKED ABOUT MY FISH IN THE MEAN TIME AND HE SAID TAKE IT UP WITH THE MANUFACTURERS WHEN THEY DIE!!! HE THEN STARTED STORIES ABOUT PEOPLE BUYING JAGUARS AND ENGINES BLOWING UP AND CUSTOMERS GOING TO THE HOUSE OF LORDS AND LOSING AS THE REASONABLE TIME THING AGAIN BLAH BLAH AND MORE BLAH WITH OTHER STORIES INVOLVED, ALSO HO IT WAS ME PUTTING IT TOGETHER AND MORE RUBBISH. I GOT SO ANNOYED I HAD TO LEAVE AT THIS POINT. IM SURE THEY WILL HAVE A TOTALLY DIFFERENT STORY TO MINE!!!! SO, GO GIVE THEM MONEY AND HOPE IT BREAK DOWN WITHIN 2 WEEKS IF ITS GOING TO OR HE WILL STIFF YOU. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Excellent service over the last ten years.Good quality fish can't fault them.
Great shop, assistant was very good , really know what she was talking a about and was a great help.
