A first visit to this nice eatery in picturesque Arundel. We were fortunate to arrive just in time for the last empty table and we quickly realised why the place was so busy. We enjoyed our choices from the menu and the coffee was of a high standard. We will certainly be back.
Had a great brunch here. Managed to be seated and served quickly despite it being rather busy clearly a popular spot. Coffee was great with dairy free options. Portions were generously sized and reasonably priced. Sat in the quiet downstairs area but didn’t by any means feel forgotten about. Great location in the centre town, albeit a very small town!
We didn't have a booking but we got a table. Would recommend trying to pre book. The food was lovely and they had a good mix on the menu. We were sat downstairs, pretty much alone and the staff were very attentive, really good considering it was busy on the main floor.Food: 4/5

First time in Arundel, and had our dog with us. There were plenty of other dogs there too. Food was wonderful and a reasonable price. It was quite busy, which is normally a good sign. They appeared to offer a takeaway service. Would definitely go back again.Food: 5/5
We visited Motte & Bailey whilst out in Arundel. It has a lovely atmosphere and the decor is lovely. Me and my partner are both vegan, but when we noticed a lack of options on the menu a kind waitress gave us the opportunity to make some of the dishes vegan which is really appreciated! I only mark 4 for service because a couple of the staff looked like they would rather be anywhere else than working which I totally get! but can come across as rude. We will certainly be recommending this cafe to others.
Best cream tea, reasonably priced, scone lovely soft & warm inside & the cakes looked great!! Just had beefburger & chips it was fabulous food, great hearty chips, hot when you bite them & burger rich & flavourful.
Usually this cafe is great but we went for lunch on New Years day and ordered smashed avocado on sourdough. Our lunch arrived with very little avocado and on thin white toast bread! We weren't advised they had run out of sourdough as I would not have ordered this. There was no apology and still expected almost £10 for this very substandard lunch -very disappointing
Delicious range of tapas dishes. Nothing greatly unique but all well cooked. Staff friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable when they noticed we were getting cold from the door. We had 4 tapas which was enough for a light dinner.Food: 4/5
Lovely toasted sandwich made with lovely fresh bread. Was quickly seated and attended to, the food arrived in a very timely fashion considering it was busy.Food: 4/5
