Great place. Lovely helpful staff. Good framing service. HOWEVER ... get the staff to tell you exactly what the frame material is made from before you order. I got two watercolours framed. I was surprised to find they had been framed in black 'composite' - a plastic-rich material looks like wood from a distance of more than about two feet in the shop. Any closer, and it looks like plastic - because it has a plastic surface. I thought this was wood when placing the order. I did not want to order plastic or composite. If you live close by, this can be corrected and replaced at the shop for an adjusted price. If you don't, then that's hard luck. The upshot to this is that it cost me over £100. For that, I have fond memories of putting these frames in my bin. Why am I giving Benards Gallery four stars? Because I would tell you what material your frame was before you chose it, that's why. I'd urge Benards to tell you what material your frame is before you choose it too. UPDATE: I've found out what the composite material main ingredient is. So, I thought I had asked for a black WOODEN frame ... that turns out to be a composite of the finest POLYSTYRENE. How would you feel if that cost you over £100?
