I stumbled on this delightful place on my walk to work this morning. I did a double take because it is located right in the middle of Rebecca Hossack's Gallery, as of September 19, 2016. The new location is fabulous, with the shop being a self contained box. So creative! While you are waiting for your coffee. You can take a look at the art. My latte was fabulous. I also enjoyed my conversation with Ben himself, who is super friendly.
Best coffee shop I've been to in London. Great coffee and cakes. Love the sweet potato and goats cheese tart. The greatest thing about the place, though, is the friendly staff. Besides being very nice and chatty they are not hipsters and unlikely to judge you for mistaking a flat white for a latte.
The clue to how wonderful this place is is all in the name! You truly do get a warm, homely welcome at Ben's House and are treated as a friend rather than a customer. I didn't know where to start with all the wonderful treats on offer, the brownies were delicious and the coffee just as excellent. It was really difficult to bring ourselves to leave as Ben is great to have a chat too and knows so much about all his locally sourced products on offer. I definitely learnt a thing or two about all the amazing gins, honey and other bits on offer. He has a real passion for everything sold in his 'house' and it's incredibly refreshing to visit somewhere so welcoming and fun. If any of you are lucky enough to have a pooch in your life, too, they're also welcome! Added bonus... not sure this place could get any better, really. But I'm sure Ben will find a way! I can't wait to go back!
A really friendly, individual little coffee shop! As well as coffee, the shop also serves a wide range of tea's, jams, chutneys and gins. Everything they sell has been sourced in London and the guys working there are super friendly and very happy to tell you about what they stock. The Brownies are gorgeous too!
We had a great chat with Ben and his assistant who are such wonderful hosts and provide exceptionally great service. Mouthwatering baked goods looked and smelled amazing! My sausage roll was perfect, and I'm looking forward to coming back soon to try other sweet and savory products form Ben's House. There is a large wooden table with some seating spaces in the middle of the coffee shop. Free WiFi is also available.? Dogs friendly :
The owner Ben is wonderful and if you're lucky enough to be there when he is then he's great for a chat. Selling wares from within London they have all kinds of delicious things from gin to condiments! The cakes and coffee are delicious and the big wooden table is great for a group to get together on a weekend or to come solo and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Was introduced to Ben's House at the recent Google London Local guides event and it was an incredible find. Thanks Katie!! Everything available is locally sourced from the London area or as near as. The gin was a perfect “tonic” on a sunny relaxing Saturday. Coffee and cakes were also excellent get the Brownie. And of course we got to meet Ben! An incredibly friendly nice guy who will tell you everything you could possibly know about the various drinks, sauces, cakes, coffee, cheeses, popcorn salt etc you can find in his “house". Will definitely be recommending to others…And seeking sanctuary here when I want to flee the mania of Oxford Street. Ben, be expecting me...
Great lil' place that I accidentally discovered this late morning. Perfect place to have a secluded meeting or a private affair in the back room : There was a muffin like flapjack that I thought was sweet to discover that its seeds pressed with Olive oil and some mild spices which has kept me full this entire day, a remarkable healthy snack. Next time a sweet ; Great coffee, London is proving to be the place for true coffee connoisseurs these days. They also serve wine and beer, so looking forward to a late summer afternoon with a couple of glasses... keep it up ben.
Love love love this place. Ben the owner has possibly the best job in the world, curating all the delicious things made in London and selling them in this shop. His staff are super friendly and there's free wifi if you want to hang with your laptop. Try an almond flat white and pick up a magazine or one of the lovely nut butters whilst you're there.
Consistently excellent service and the finest selection of cakes to accompany exceptional coffee. Ben is a true gentleman dealing with the eccentricities of an eclectic clientele with grace & finesse. Whenever I am staying in London this is my coffee house of choice. 10 out of 10.
