I was a pupil in the grammer school and was lucky that i got a classical private education for free in the state system. Our masters were keen to encourage us in anything we showed interest in, whatever it may have been. I don't think today's education is even remotely as good, prefering to churn out conditioned socially "normal" people rather than encourage excellence. In that sense the grammer school was the diametric opposite of today's schools. Every year 6th formers were winning places in the top universities like Durham, Oxford, Cambridge, etc. How many do that now? Any? Not only that but the grammer school taught us how to learn and how to find everything interesting if we just scratched below the surface. They taught us facts and loosely adhered to a curriculum but that was not the aim of the school. We found "O"-levels very easy and could do much of the exams just on our general knowledge. Do I sound proud? Well that's because I am. The masters who taught me will all be dead now but I continue to have more admiration for them than any of the shallow politicians we have these days.

BULLYING POLICY IS ABSOLUTELY HORRID. IVE GOT MY BESTFRIEND GOING TO THAT SCHOOL AND THE BULLYING IS SO BAD TO THE POINT SHE SCARED TO GO TO HER OWN SCHOOL. SHE HAD 1 PERSON BULLYING HER AND NOW ITS INCREASING. TEACHERS DO NOTHING WILL SHE HAS MADE VARIOUS REPORTS. ITS NOT OKAY. SHE CRIES EVERYDAY. FOR WHAT. WHY CANT THE TEACHERS HELP HER. Children are our future let's take care of them
This school is rubbish the kids ruin it! As I dont attend this school anymore as being in it for 3 years, I know how it is the kids there are awful, very rude and harsh and disrespectful no manners at all, The Teachers are decent half enough there nice half of the time and quite understanding with you but the school is just a reck.
As a student here still its a great school the elm tree and erf are the amazing facilities just a good school
Used to go here, absolutely awful do not go here for your children teachers got annoyed att you for no reason and there is a dinner lady called Mrs Campbell but we all called her miss amiee she shouts at nursery kids for having an accident knowing well that that child wasn't trained to go to the toilet yet do NOT go here
I've had to take up safety concerns for my kids on three separate occasions with the teachers. The first time they couldn't tell me where my child was during school hours, even though my child was in school. At one point they said my child wasn't in school. After about an hour they found my child on school premises. Then they were apologetic. The 2nd time my eldest child was In exam. The exam went half hour over the finish time. None of the teachers thought it was necessary to let parents know. When my child didn't come out, and their phone was off. I rang the reception and they didn't even know where my child was, saying it wasn't their responsibility. The third time was today, they put my child in isolation without notifying me or my partner. I found out from a student outside the school. I rang the reception to find out, the receptionist said that the teacher incharge of the isolation has said that he has contacted the parents on WhatsApp call. Blatantly lying to my face, me and my partner have not had any calls. When I've taken these issues up with them, they are not bothered. They told me I'm not allowed on premises. So the children's safety is not even a priority with this school.
This is about secondary school it's a good school but some of their staff are so irresponsible especially lisa flower she works in head of house but she has no experience there's alot of fights going on in this school and they don't make student's comfortable but it is welcoming but there are problems that they don't care about some are the staff don't care about what we should do for the school i'm not happy about this at all lisa flower has lied to the student about waiting lists making fake stories so not happy about this at all.
Went here when I was still a pupil and can safely say that it's full of wastemen, retards and wannbe gangsters. Teacher are sound though.. most of the time.
I went to this school in 1960! I was an American and going there because my father an engineer for Allison Div. of GM was sent there for a year on a joint development program with Rolls-Royce. I was 16 at the time and noticed that all the 16 year old English lads were a lot smaller than me. The school was strict and formal but had a good curriculum. Since they kept all the windows open at 59 F or 15 C I had to wear scratchy wool underwear to keep warm!
