Been to Lyme so many times...first time here ..it was the rain and the wind that drove us in but the menu caught our eye. Friendly and accommodating staff,great atmosphere with history....the views from the window are great. The home made soup was out if this world...the best Mushroom soup I've tasted in a long while came with a huge chunk of tasty warm bread with plenty of butter and a cheese panni which I was not expecting which was lush,no cheap plastic cheese.Tasty mature Cheddar....5 stars‼
Our family of 4 visited the Bell Cliff restaurant today. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Me and my wife opted for tea and a cake, and our children both had kids meals. The food was good but maybe a little bit pricey as it come to £33. On another note, try to avoid sitting by the back door. The staff are back and forth using this door to take food and drink to there outside seating area. The door was constantly being opened. My wife and daughter kept feeling cold.
It was a special birthday lunch for my wife. Not only was the food, hygiene, location, service and decor brilliant, but my wife has a phobia about toilets these where modern, with no obvious pipes. A place we would happily return to. Well done to all involved. Vegetarian options: A absolutely smashing, I can't remember what the others had but they liked it.
Just Had a delightful afternoon tea at the Bell cliff, cheese scones with cheese and pickle, delicious. The staff were just lovely very efficient and friendly, they even bought a little dish of dog biscuits for our dog, would definitely recommend.
Excellent food and the service was great. Best hot chocolate in Lyme Regis. Jayne was an excellent server. So good we came here twice for breakfast in the week we were here
Nice enough place but if you order a latte then be aware it is made from a machine and tastes sweetened and a bit grainy. It does say this on the menu. Personally I couldn’t finish mine which was a shame given the price £5.75 for coffee + toasted tea cake
Kaz And Sam always give us a lovely welcome. We have been frequenting Bell Cliff for about 15 years + and would only stop here for a cream tea or a prawn sandwich. The food is always great, never had anything but really good food at Bell Cliff. Scones and afternoon tea the best in Lyme. Lovely location. Really wonderful to sit outside in the summer watching the world go by and in the winter a nice spot to escape the rain or wind. Thoroughly recommend a stop off. Thanks to Kaz and Sam for always being a cheery face, even in the height of the summer when they are rushed off their feet.
I love this place. Very welcoming and friendly staff, the breakfast is really nice and they even do a vegan one. I always come here when I visit Lyme Regis
Had a wonderful meal, my husband had mussels with a creamy sauce and chips. I had whitebait with salad. Both of our meals were very generous portion wise, so much, my husband couldn't eat all the mussels! Attentive, but unobtrusive staff, very friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Had lunch at the Bell Cliff. First visit there. Went about 1pm on a Tuesday. It was fairly busy but we were offered the choice of two tables. The welcome we had was very friendly and we were certainly made to feel very welcomed. The lunch and afternoon menu was very extensive, although the lunch menu prices were on the slighter higher side the food was of a quality and quantity which absolutely justified this. We had a cooked meal and a fresh sandwich meal, both were very tasty. The whole atmosphere was one of which made us feeling like we were not being rushed. The staff were very friendly. I would certainly recommend a visit and we would certainly return in the future.
