Every time I visit this place I discover something new. Today it was the house speciality 'hash'. It comes in a few variations but I chose the smoked salmon. Tasty and soft fried potatoe, topped with a perfect poached egg. Four generous portions of smoked salmon. The whole dish sits just the right amount of an extremely tasty mustard dressing. The whole thing was not only delicious but very reasonably priced. Staff on the ball and very helpful, as usual. The Pavillion might have opened opposite, but it will never be a match for this place. Fantastic food, using fresh ingredients and at a price that will never break the bank. The best bohemian cafe/bar in the South of England. Visiting this place is a must for any tourist.
Brilliant place with a young and vibrant arty feel , pizza are delicious and cooked by a proper Italian chef and the staff is caring and super friendly. Only think is the lack of music specially during the week ends, but occasionally a local pianist pops in there to play some piano and all together this place is one of a kind with beautiful decor and paintings on the wall.
Closing soon! You have till the 12th to come and dine here. Food is wonderful, but the beers are expensive. Decor is very....rustic
The staff were friendly, and it has a good selection of beers. However I felt the food was average and a bit over priced. We went on a sunday so there was a huge menu, a whole page of specials, a pizza menu and a carvery which definitely felt like too much on offer to be able to do well, I think they would do better to narrow down their choices and focus on quality rather than quantity.
Unique place, looks scruffy but with an air of eccentricity. Great variety Belgium beers, great food including fresh fish, seafood and Italian style dishes. Inside seating quite basic but comfortable and has bands playing sometimes which is a real bonus. Outside tables are very popular for people watching and usually very busy.. This changed names but still has same atmosphere and fresh fish and great meals and of course Belgian beer!
Nice bar restaurant right on the harbour looking at the boats. Outside seating.. Freshly made pizza.. .and a good range of other dishes on the menu. Lots of choice for drinks.. Relaxed friendly chilled out atmosphere. Piano in the corner if you can play. Plenty of seating. Alcohol served till late so no need to rush.
A proper no frills pub/bar. The food never disappoints and the pizza is amazing! Massive variety of beer. Child, dog, cat and philosopher friendly. Always a good atmosphere. You don't need to dress to impress as no one will care. Pop in kick back and relax!
I visit the bar several times a week,, the food is always spot on, and the menu great. I would say to anyone looking for a good Sunday lunch look no further.... Yes you might find it cheaper in one of the many outlets.. but here you won't be ripped off with over priced drinks and processed microwaved food. Layed back and chilled atmosphere,, lovely staff. If it takes just a coffee or a full blown blow out you won't be disappointed........ P.s just been told the Belgian bar is closing...what a loss to the whole area.. gutted...
This place was recommended to us by a couple of people so we popped along for a beer. The beer we had, palm, was £6 a pint, which is very expensive. We heard another customer ask for a Stella and it was more expensive than ours!!! The barman seriously said something about brexit bumping up prices. The staff overall were rude and seemed put out that they had customers who needed serving, they also forgot that they said they would do table service and didn't bring our food over when it was ready, we had to go ask. The place was extremely run down and the roof leaked when it rained. Locals recommend it, and it seems if you're a local you will be welcomed, but if you're a tourist I suggest you spend your money somewhere that it will be appreciated, as they don't seem to care here.
Great selection of beer, lots of nice food and a pizza challenge! There is also lots of art for sale on the wall if you are feeling a bit rich. Cafe also has a few pcs in the corner for public ude and a guy playing a piano. Staff all very friendly.
