Myself and a friend have came for a ‘spa break’ and I will use this term loosely. When we arrived the spa receptionist attempted to charge £5 for a robe each despite us insisting that it was in with the £300 we had paid, after proving this with showing the email we was offered no apology, then we were given a locker to share and refused to be given another token. Once in the changing room it could of been cleaner with a room labels ‘sunbed’ with the door slightly open when we looked inside we wished we hadn’t, it was an empty room broken tiles and filthy. When we arrived in the ‘spa’ we were disappointed to find that it was over crowded, and like a school playground to the point where we could no access the pool for children, not the relaxing experience we were expecting, the only facilities were a small sauna and steam room again which were full at all times. The room itself was basic, with poor lighting making it impossible to get ready and us having to use our phone flashlight, the arm chair has a red stain on it, I am trying not to think what this may be and there is a large stain on the floor. We are by the delivery area so a nice alarm clock for the morning. The drinks were very overpriced and we later discovered that on each drink they are also adding a 20% service charge this adds up when you are paying £18 for a gin and tonic! When we arrived for our evening meal at 8:15 as the table was booked for 8:30 we were still waiting to be seated at 8:55, when we eventually were seated the table was not laid and dirty but we was moved when asked, the stater was a pleasant salad however the main which was buffet style was vile and myself and friend was unable to eat it. The food was dry, flavourless, cold and each meal did not compliment the other. When I asked to speak the restaurant manager it took an age for him to arrive when he did at 9:45 he Went off to speak to the chef. Eventually the server came back and placed a menu in-front of us and said order off there, we explained that we had a package deal and she said that she did not know if we could. By now it was 10:15 at night we were starving, the manager came back when and said that we can order of the menu for no charge but it would take a while because of it being busy. As it was so late we said no thank you, and asked if we can have the meal price refunded and he said that as it is a package he is unsure, the whole time we Spoke to him about our sub- standard experience his response was it’s because it a package deal, when we compared our restaurant service with the table next to us we’re were told because they are not on the package deal that is why theirs is different better The nights sleep was broken you can hear the rooms above talk, walking and flushing the toilet so I’m unsure why the rooms are advertised as sound proofed So all in all considering the £300 for a basic room no evening meal, then £152 on drinks, £11 for 2 coffees plus £200 on treatments this has not been good value for money and I would recommend anyone looking for a relaxing spa break to look else where.
I come to the Belfry twice a year as a treat and I always have a great time. The staff are all brilliant, including the housekeepers, bar and restaurant staff and the spa staff. They all go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to help with whatever you need. Food is very good and hotel is always spotless. I had an amazing massage with Kelly today who I could tell instantly was very experienced, her warm manner and individual approach made me feel at ease and nurtured. She gave me excellent advice for after the massage too on reducing muscle tension, I'm very grateful as it made my stay the best one yet
Great stay fantastic service from all the staff from reception, bar staff and restaurant staff particularly the gentleman marios! Very considerate and accommodating to our dietary needs with exceptional customer service! Great spa really enjoyed the fire and ice facilities all kept and maintained to high standards. Overall really recommend the place has great grounds, spa, lovely bar area with great atmosphere, enjoyed the Ryder restaurant as they cater for any dietary needs including halal! The bedroom at derby block overlooking the golf course was lovely very quite and modern room with great storage and comfortable bed! Thank you to all the staff and management 5 stars!
We had an amazing stay at The Belfry last weekend. This was our third time visiting, and it was just as enjoyable as previous visits. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and attentive, particularly Alex and Josh in The Ryder Grill. They were incredibly helpful and polite, it felt like nothing was too much trouble for them. We also upgraded our room to the signature suite, which was fantastic - spotlessly clean and very luxurious. We will definitely return time and time again to The Belfry.
Went for a spa day with my daughterinlaws and it was a fantastic experience. The Fire and Ice rooms were great and the the staff very helpful. My facial and massage was done by Francis who was so friendly and did a great job. The relaxation lounge was brilliant and was a great way to end the day. We all had our massages the same time so no waiting around we finished the same time. Will definitely be booking again
Stayed here with work overnight, it's a great place. Meeting rooms were really nice and big, hotel itself very clean and tidy. Food was amazing and nice selection of drinks in the bar. Rooms are good size and beds were comfortable. Love the shower. Will defo stay again.
The staff were excellent and very helpful. The spa treatments were good but the pool was noisy with lots of kids and difficult to get a bed. The sauna wasn’t working and it was difficult to get in the steam rooms. Drinks are very expensive! Breakfast and dinner was very good and once again staff were great! Rooms: Not great but ok
I had a lovely day at the Belfry for my 21st. The treatment was lovely and relaxing and the facilities were nice - my only criticism would be that some of the rooms were being serviced so they weren’t in use which could’ve been done outside of spa hours. Nonetheless, we had a lovely and relaxing visit with a really sweet addition for my birthday pictured below.
We came here for our menu tasting as well as a little birthday treat and from the moment we walked through the door, all the staff had been incredibly friendly, helpful and so soo polite. We came as a family and they were soo accommodating with us bringing our 9 month old. What absolutely amazing service you are providing. We are getting married at the Belfry in June 2023 and we have definitely made the right choice choosing this place as our wedding venue. What incredibly high standard you have set for customer service, an absolute credit to the service industry
Excellent staff, nothing was to much trouble for them. excellent room, food was lovely. Hotel well maintained We will certainly be returning. Drinks can be on the higher side but I would not expect anything other than that.
