Modern and stylish looking building close to main shopping areas.nReasonable charges, especially the short stay.nYou take a ticket when you drive in and pay at a machine on your return to the carpark by the pedestrian entrance before going back to your car to leave. Please note, you can pay by card, but the process is not too well explained, so if you struggle, watch a regular.nQuite well lit and very clean and tidy.nThe stairs need your attention as the stair edges do not have a white or yellow strip to denote the edge which could be disconcerting for some.nThere are lifts, but only at one entrance.nThe up and down vehicle ramps needs negotiating carefully especially with a larger vehicle as the turns are quite tight. Similarly, the parking bays are quite snug.nOverall, very good.
Really convenient car park close to the shops. I've always managed to find a space, and generally always on the lower floor. The prices are fair/reasonable, and in the past there have been special prices to attract people to the town, and discounts on Sundays.nnI would have given 5 stars but the thing that lets the car park is the payment machines. Historically, before the introduction of the contactless feature, I could almost always guarantee that someone would be emptying the machine at the same time I needed to pay. It was a slow process and a queue of people would always form.nnSince the contactless feature has been added this doesn't seem to occur, however there is a really long delay when using contactless payment, to the point where I have, numerous times, moved my card away too soon and then had to start all over again. There are only two payment machines on the ground floor and its common for queues to form.nnIt would be great if the contactless payment feature could be improved to be more responsive. It would be better still to just swip my payment card on the way in, and then use ANPR when I leave to charge my card accordingly, and offer a receipt, e.g. no need to queue up.
Was meeting a friend to see a film at Cineworld and after doing a bit of research this appeared to be the closest public car park.nnThe directions from Google Maps were clear enough coming from south of Loughborough. Getting in requires driving past the building and then making a couple of right turns to bring you round to the entrance, presumably to try and prevent any queues backing up traffic at peak times.nnParking there in the evening I found the car park to be well lit. The ramps for going up and down levels were a decent width, although the spaces themselves were the usual tight squeeze to exit your vehicle from.nnThere were pedestrian exits on either side of the building that will get you to the shops in a minute's walk. As far as I could tell there was only one machine to pay for your parking at. Being a council run car park the evening parking fee was a very reasonable 60p.nnI'll be perfectly happy to park here again should I happen to visit Loughborough in the evening.
Always use this car park when visiting Loughborough townhall, 5 min walk. Generally plenty of spaces available. Evening tariff only 60p. Absolute bargain.
Left the works van in there over night as my hotel didn’t have parking. Parked on level 3 next to the CCTV camera. Van got the near side drivers window smashed. Reported it to the Police who said their CCTV is not operational.
