Lovely pub ... the staff just make it... they are cool and kind and pour the best guiness in town. The pub itself is just a one room box really... the decor is tired and the bee quotes are bait... but the staff are amazing.
Called in for a quick pint with a colleague while down in London on business in January 2020. Seemed an okay pub, clean and tidy, but although not very busy at all didn’t get a friendly welcome from the bar maid – simply told they didn’t accept cash. No explanation, no apology, no further comment. The beer was okay, but we chose to sit outside given the lack of staff warmth inside. Based on that one visit alone - I would not recommend and would not call in again if in the area; plenty of other pubs available.
This pub doesn’t really work for me. Too bright and a fairly soulless interior. The bar staff, and they seem to turnover a lot, are always friendly but generally inexperienced - which doesn’t help the rating. Decent selection of beers but some of the prices are surprisingly high - even by Marylebone standards. Clearly subjective but, for me, far better pubs within a 250 meter walk.
Fantastic place, fantastic food, fantastic people. Love the fries, Nothing to add. A little bit expensive but you know... the quality has a cost! Thanks for all guys. See you soon. Cheers from Italy...
Went there for dinner with some friends. Did not disappoint! Food was delicious, atmosphere was great. Highly recommend the burger.
Lovely pub but, when staff are walking around in coats you know there is an issue! Even in tier 2 almost every table was taken but 90% of customers still had their coats on. It was absolutely FREEZING! We all have times when our heating breaks down but atleast go out and get some portable heaters! It was actually warmer to stand outside with coats on under the heaters than to stay inside a moment longer. Not somewhere I will return to in the winter months.
This place just doesn't come across as a pub. Plastic covered seats and magnolia walls. Looks like it's been chopped and changed a ton. Is the wooden bar original? Doesn't look a day over 10 years old. Paulaner on tap brings it back up to two stars.
A reasonably good selection of beers. Not much of a selection of cider - only a few bottled varieties. I ordered a burger which was reasonably tasty although a bit weird with three onion rings inside and a giant quarter sliced gherkin on top. The burger itself was unexpectedly crunchy, and definitely over cooked. Could have been better.
A delightful pub, always busy with a great atmosphere. Excellent wines, and wonderful food. Pleasingly, the menu is actually very fairly priced when you consider the importance they clearly put on dining. The chefs are clearly highly talented, and every time I eat there I have a great time.
I go there regularly with colleagues. Great selection of beer and their truffle chips are something to die for. The burger comes with chips at a very reasonable price
