Beechfield House provided a good selection of food and drinks for Afternoon Tea at great value for money. We received excellent service from the staff who could not do enough for us and ensured we were happy throughout our stay. The historic hotel and it's grounds are picturesque, well preserved and perfect for a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
I went for afternoon tea with my wife. Worth every penny. Food was fantastic! I cannot star rate the rooms as I didn't stay. If the hotel offer me a room on gratis I will happily rate it for them.. The grounds are lovely and well kept Very happy with the service
Booked Beechfield for a family get together. Everything was superb, from our arrival, to the rooms, service, staff and food was amazing. The heated swimming pool, the private dining room, the friendly kind and attentive staff, spotlessly clean rooms. We were made to feel as though we were the only guests throughout our stay. We already want to return and will do again soon. 5 Stars will sparkles on. Many Thanks Beechfield.
Lovely venue. We had a cream tea but were sat on low chairs in the bar. Not the most comfy and very quiet which didn't create the best atmosphere. Service was ok but not particularly friendly, and we had to keep leaving the room to find them when we wanted something. I would like to visit again as it looked like a large event was planned, which may be the reason we were sat in the bar.
Fantastic, cozy country getaway! Super friendly staff, perfect amenities including Heather pool, Victorian rooms with breakfast and fireplaces. Great restaurant and lots to do on the area.Rooms: 5/5
Just had afternoon tea with a friend for my 60th. Lovely spread. We asked for extra egg sandwiches instead of the cucumber which were happily catered for. Kayleigh was excellent. Friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of food and I even took some cake home.Service: 5/5
Not a good stay. Wildly overpriced, clearly inexperienced and poorly trained staff. Got charged extra for asking for some milk for my coffee. Not a great sign if the front desk staff makes you feel inconvenient because you interrupted their Dominos to come ask for some towels...Rooms: 4/5
We stayed at Beechfield House for Christmas, largely because we wanted to visit Bath and the surrounding area and to visit nearby relatives. In addition there are a number of Tesla chargers, some are open. All are free to use for guests, simply ask reception to turn them on. Extremely friendly, helpful and lovely staff permanently running around like blue arsed flies. They were absolutely wonderful but there weren't enough of them. Adrian, Anthony, Kayleigh & one other, didn't get her name, worked amazingly hard to keep everyone happy. So hard things occasionally went wrong. Orders forgotten. Choices mis remembered. Always swiftly corrected with an apology & a smile. Rooms: The bathroom was interesting to say the least. Two tiled steps to go down so it's advisable to wear shoes or bare feet to prevent slipping. If you were to fall it's all hard surfaces including some very sharp edges on the steps. The lovely deep bath was also the shower tray for a great shower but it was difficult to get in and out of and had no grab handles. There was no overflow on that nor the sink! There was plenty of hot water except in the middle of the night but the sink had a tendency to empty itself whilst you were using it if you had run the water first as the suction pulled the water past the plug. There was no loo roll holder but the only way you could have one would be a movable pedestal between loo and bath. The bath/shower gel was non refillable Safety: Somewhat lacking. No fire guards. No grab rails in bathrooms. Food & drinks: The food was generally delicious especially the Christmas dinner. There were some notable slip-ups however which is why this review is not 5 star. Bacon like leather with the otherwise good Wiltshire breakfast served on unwarmed plates. The blade of beef for the Christmas Eve meal was certainly not a blade, it was moulded pulled beef and was the strangest piece of meat it's ever been my misfortune to chew. The roast beef for Christmas dinner was however succulent pink and delicious. Noteworthy details: This lovely hotel is best described as faded elegance. Several pseudo wood gas fires and comfy ish chairs in the lounges. Multiple dining rooms & a variety of accommodation. Outdoor pool. Large grounds.
Passed by this place a few times and it always looked nice so booked for an afternoon tea for a birthday treat. Absolutely fantastic staff and beautiful hotel. Well maintained. Special thanks to Carla and Joao who were so very friendly and helpful. Very attentive. Really appreciated their service. Will definitely be returning and hope to make use of the outdoor heated pool!!
A beautiful English country house hotel, very tastefully restored. Wonderful heated swimming pool, peaceful grounds. Friendly, attentive staff for whom, nothing is too much trouble. Absolutely sublime food! A real jewel.
