Beanstalk is a great wee shop, there's always something new on the shelves any time i visit, they have a wide variety of items and I can always find a suitable gift for any occasion. The staff are very helpful and don't 'jump' on you as you come in the door which i have experienced in other shops similar which makes me feel uncomfortable. The owner went out his way to help me find a print i was looking for and phoned me when it had arrived, 10 out of 10!!

love this shop - try to avoid going in for simple reason I can't leave without buying something - staff are always helpful & nothings a bother to them.

Customer service is extremely poor... i used to love shopping in Beanstalk, I was always guaranteed to find the perfect gift for someone.. however I have been in a couple of times recently and received very poor treatment.. the first incident was when I was interested in a particular piece and asked if it came in a larger size. The assistant told me that she didn't think so, and then proceeded to tell me that if it was available, it would probably be rather expensive. I asked how much roughly?, and she continued in a patronising manner "That piece is £40.00 so it would maybe £80.00".. it was said in such a manner, as to insinuate that I could ill afford it, I may add, this was said in front of other customers.. The 2nd Incident was the worst, I walked into an empty shop, looking at items as I walked and went right up to the back of the shop.. The owner and 2 assistants were standing talking. Not so much as a "Hi there" or "Can I help you"? I was in the shop for 5 - 10 mins and no-one approached me.. I left disgusted. I myself have my own business and rely on excellent customer service. Its a pity that the Beanstalk has become complacent and appears to no longer care for its customers. For that reason alone, I will not be back..
