If you are looking for an exceptional, unique, and extremely comfortable cottage for a retreat or a base from which to explore the Islands of Harris and Lewis, look no further, this is it! Bays Blackhouse is exactly like the photos on their website. It is a gorgeously appointed home for one or two with no detail or comfort unaddressed. While touring Lewis did take a bit of driving, after covering both islands fairly well, we were very happy we chose to stay there, on Harris. The remote location provides privacy and a very peaceful place to experience the majesty of the bays on Harris. Paul and Annalie are such thoughtful and generous hosts, providing clear and thorough information needed through a Bays Blackhouse app, and a welcome pack to kickstart the stay with their homemade delicacies. Bays Blackhouse is exquisite and we are grateful we had the opportunity to meet them and spend a week in their magical cottage.
We had a wonderful week away from it all in this idlic spot.nThe holiday home Paul & Annalie have created is just perfect, architectural & furnished worthy of its five star rating.nBoth our hosts were super friendly and nothing was to much trouble, they know the island well and were a wealth of knowledge.nHighly recommend
Seclusion, privacy, comfort, exclusivity, friendliness and cleanliness are all adjectives that can be used in describing a break away in the Bays Blackhouse. A great find online and leaving a special place in our memories. Thank you to Paul and Annalie in their help, professionalism and kindness in making our stay a 'goldilocks' moment.
A gem of a holiday cottage in a superb location on Harris. Whenever we return we hope to stay at this property again: the house has all amenities you could wish for and guests are welcomed with such warm hospitality including home baked bread and delicious cake !
WOW! What a place! Superb accommodation and a warm friendly welcome from owners Paul & Anerlie. The views down the loch are to die for! The Blackhouse itself is built within the original stone walls of the ancient Croft that once stood here, and to the highest standard you could imagine! A truly “get away from it all” location. HEAVEN ON EARTH!
