Very attractive bar, and I will definitely return. Dj or live music on the weekend, that's a must. Only had drinks, so I can not review on the food..Service: 5/5
The staff was really friendly, and the bedsheets were clean, which was nice. Also, the hotel has good transport links. However, I don’t think it was worth it for the price, as the hot water in the shower was extremely inconsistent and we could barely get in due to it either being piping hot or freezing cold. There were areas of the room which were quite unclean and needed to be attended to, including the bathroom floor which was dirty. Overall, if you’re looking for a cheap place to stay for 1-2 days and don’t plan on staying inside the hotel all day, this is a decent option for you, just don’t expect too much.
Good food, good service, new management seem to be very good
The hotel was a reasonably good price for 2 nights, though it was very out of the way of the main part of London. We had to get trains and tubes from the centre of London into Stratford. Once at Stratford Station, it’s a 25 minute walk to the hotel. Because of the distance to the centre, we ended up spending a lot of money on public transport and taxis etc. The room itself was okay, the bed was comfortable and we had a TV - although the remote for it was literally cello-taped together. We didn’t have air-con, and in the 30 degree heat this would have been really nice, instead we had to open the window which looked out onto the main road - all night long we heard cars going past and people talking, it was really annoying and at points we struggled to sleep. The bathroom for me was the worst part, I didn’t feel comfortable showering in there because it was really unclean. I also was downright baffled because they didn’t have a bin in the toilet; as a woman it’s really important that we are provided sanitary bins in the restroom, so this is something that needs to be changed asap. Overall, the stay wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t rush back to stay here again.
Staff was very kind, friendly and helpful. Cleanliness wise it wasn't the best but not horrible. The water in the shower and sink was very inconsistent. It was either scorching hot, ice-cold or no water at all. Hard to take a decent shower. Money wise it's not the best but bearable for a short stay.
I wish i could give it 0 stars. By far the worst property I have ever had the displeasure of staying at. I was also bitten throughout the night, I thought it may have been mosquitoes but could not hear any! I believe they have bed bugs, as the moment I got into bed I felt incredibly itchy and could feel something biting me. Also the furnishings are outdated, the bathroom was horrendous, shower was weak, there was a strong damp and weed smoking odour. It is not worth a fiver, dont fall for the cheap price, book a premierinn or travelodge!
My dad stayed in this hotel and it's nothing like the photos posted online. The room are very small and it barely has fresh air. Also, the hotel is basically located on top of a pub. However, the staff are really nice and very helpful and it's located very close to Stratford center.
Terrible..... when we first went in there was a musky smell, and cigarette ash on the stairs! The guy on reception simply handed us our key, and said its on the 2nd floor but gave no indication how we got to the room. The room was ok. However the bathroom wasn't... the shower was supposed to have 2 doors but only had 1, and that was only just hanging on. When I'd finished my shower the bathroom looked like a paddling pool. ... Toilet paper was cheap and rough. We had plans so went out...when we returned around 1am we were locked out! We used the buzzer, knocked on the glass door and rang the telephone number we found online.... nobody answered. A cab driver who's friend was staying in the hotel arrived around an hour later and was able to call his friend who could let us in...NO, the door was locked from the inside with no keys available. SURELY THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR SAFETY IF THERE WAS A FIRE? ?? Somehow one of the staff was WOKEN and let us in, at 2.15 am.and simply said Sorry! When we spoke to the guy on reception the following morning and explained this he laughed and said, he must be sleeping! !!! Absolutely Disgraceful. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK AND DEFINITELY WON'T RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.
These people who own this place and advertise it as a hotel need to visit an hotel and see what an hotel look like .this place is very misleading it is awful the entrance is a shabby little dirty room leading to a back room supposed to be an checking area with a dingy looking couch.they give you a key and send you upstairs with you luggage no help and no elevator got to the room after going through a dirty smoke smelling hallway with old mattresses lean up along the hallway into a bedroom with furniture the are in terrible condition the wood peeling off, the bed linen and pillow case soiled just bad i booked from the U.S.A.for a one night stay which lasted 45 minutes. awlful place
I was very disappointed with the bay tree hotel, we booked from Saturday 28th-29th July, our room we had paid for with a deposit was given away to another customer which was very dissatisfing. The rooms they gave us were very hot, not soundproof, suffered several flee bites and had to have antibiotics and had dirty bedding in the rooms. I will definitely not be recommending the hotel to any other customers. I will be inclined to contact environmental health as it was horrible.
