Wow what a beautifully respectful peaceful place to visit. It really does give you a huge sense of appreciation visiting the Battle of Britain Memorial in Folkestone. Just a little walk around but so many emotions will flow through you in a short time, I highly recommend a stop if you can. All you have to pay for is the parking but have the option to donate. The volunteers are friendly, informative and helpful. I would like to pass on my thanks for their commitment to such an important cause.
Visited here on a day when it was closed. But being able to walk around the outside of the building and looking at the planes that have been placed in various different ways. To top it off the views across the channel are stunning. The visit was back in December I bet when its open this is a very popular attraction to visit
Smashing place to visit - beautiful grounds and scale model planes. The chargeable interactive “Scramble Experience” was also very good for both adults and children. If you’re lucky you may get to see the local Spitfire fly over! Cafe was smashing with elevated views and very well priced food/drinks. Chargeable car park take coins!. Marked down a star though as had confirmation from staff that dogs on leads were accepted in the grounds after seeing a dog there. Told my parents who took their small dog only to be turned away!
A great walk. Suitable for the old, young and also families with children. Dogs only on a lead. Great views of the Cliffs of Dover and Folkenstone and nothing the sea in between. Free public toilets in "top of the top" condition. A restaurant where there are binoculars on the top floor. Excursion at reasonable prices, as well as parking. Souvenir shop. Beautiful monuments, people and their sayings, planes. Free view. Beautiful, I will definitely go again 5 of a 5!!! Restrooms: Free 4 all Dog-friendliness: On a lead
Fantastic memorial and museum. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there despite the weather being pretty horrific. The scramble experience was extremely well put together. With the perfect mix of interactive learning and insightful videos. I would love to come again in the summer as I'm sure it's got a beautiful view.
What a fitting memorial to ‘the few’. Had wanted to visit for years and it didn’t disappoint. How incredibly brave those men were. The memorial is wonderful, the airman sculpture sitting there in quiet contemplation looking over the coastline is very moving. There is good parking, a coffee shop, toilet facilities and a small gift shop too.
This place is just fantastic and well worth a visit unfortunately I was just passing between jobs so couldn't spend more than half hour but you could easily spend half a day here, plenty of things to see and also a simulator to have a go of, unfortunately I didn't have the time.. Enjoy the photos, it's a unique part of british history that should never be forgotten.
Very picturesque and tranquil place. The views of the ocean is also great from up here. On a clear day we can catch a glimpse of the European shores from the scope placed in the cafe upstairs.
An amazing place to visit, really understand the history of those brave souls that allowed us the freedom we have today. I have been before but decided it was time my daughter and granddaughter had the experience and they both loved it. Outstanding and emotional. Free to enter but please donate to them to help keep it going for generations to come. Small parking charges apply. Restrooms: Very well maintained
On the day we visited the memorial was covered by sea mist which added to the atmosphere. Very poignant moment to think of all those young pilots who gave their lives for our freedom. Lest we forget. Earlier in the day I got the shot of a Spitfire flying over the sea. It's worth a few minutes of your time.
