This British chippy is an oasis in a sea of Chinese chip shops, the best in the area. However on my last vist at tea time on a Friday at approximately 5 pm we finished up with what looked and tasted like they were reheated to be honest they were not very nice and most them went in the bin.
SMALL PORTIONS AND DRIED SAUSAGES. CHIPS TASTED MING LIKE THE OIL NEEDED CHANGING, SAUSAGES LEFT DRYING OUT BURST OPEN BUT STILL FOR SALE, NOT A FAN

Top quality chippy, probably the best in the area I've had. Shame it only opens one evening per week Friday's but usually open Monday to Friday at lunchtime. For fish and chips, with gravy or curry it should be illegal to have it without either gravy or curry rag puddings, pies, mushy peas or sausages, this is the place I'd recommend if out and about fancying chippy in Dukinfield.
Its national fish & chip day so we decided to try The Battered Friar for the first time. Everything was delicious and it might become our new regular Friday treat.
Good traditional fish and chips , best in the area , highly recommended 10/10
