The staff were friendly, and the extended hours are genuinely appreciated. The only letdown was a subtle but important clinical failure in how my symptoms were assessed. I came in after a 10-day viral cold, now in the recovery phase, where most symptoms had eased, but a lingering dry, tickly cough remained the only one still disruptive—keeping me from sleeping when lying down. A classic post-viral irritation. I’d already tried a standard glycerin syrup at home with no relief. At that point, a suppressant would have been a clinically reasonable next step. Instead, only basic syrups were offered, and when I asked about a product containing a cough suppressant, it was dismissed without proper clinical discussion. A few vague questions were asked, but no real symptom history was taken. The decision felt shaped more by risk-aversion, assumptions, and local patterns than by a full clinical picture. A cautious approach is valid—and in this case, it was delivered with courtesy—but it must be based on clinical detail, not assumptions.
Very rude pharmacist. Filled out an emergency prescription request and drove 20 miles to collect to be told they can't dispence after 10pm; the form was filled out at 9.11pm. They blamed their incompetence on me. The 111 emergency prescription request clearly states its the pharmacists responsibility to source your medication if they unable to fulfil your request. The pharmacist said 'I think there's somewhere in Leeds', thats it. I live in barnsley.
Having tried unsuccessfully to obtain a prescription from 5 different pharmacies, Batley Pharmacy staff went out of their way to order it for me. It was delivered late afternoon and I collected it just after 6pm. Such a bonus they staff open until 10.30pm! The pharmacist also gave me a follow-up call to check the medication was as prescribed as it was an unusual dosage. Very pleased with this service, thank you.
Having had extreme pain and urgently needed medication via prescription, i went to this pharmacy as they were the only ones open and this place is a gem. The staff are very polite, professional and friendly, they put their customers and their needs first and that's very rare as I've come across other pharmacies nearby that lack that level of care and professionalism.nnA special thank you to the lady who provided me with the medications I needed that evening, she went above and beyond.
Excellent pharmacy and exceptional staff. First went there a few months ago as they were the only pharmacy who had my wife's medication, actually advised to go there by another pharmacy. Went yesterday for microsuction ear wax removal. Rozeena was excellent, friendly and efficient, done quickly and cheaper than everyone else. Also had our covid and flu vaccination there. Highly recommended pharmacy.
