What an absolutely disappointing experience. We booked to do flumes and lagoon park. This was in the afternoon. However, that whole section was closed. They made no effort to let us know and had plenty of time. When we had come from Fleet for this, it seemed a shame to at least not go in a pool. They had the audacity to not offer any discount for well over half the place not working. I asked that surely there must be a reduced price and my only option was refund or ‘tough’. Charging that price for a 20m pool with a 1m depth was poor. The pool was also cool and every time some got out of the water you could see them shivering as it was cold in there. At this point unless management was to deal with and address the overcharge, we will not be going back.
Took my young ones for a swim yesterday and can't complain! The girls loved it and had lots of fun. Also looking to sign them up for some swimming lessons! Only negative was some mess left in the changing rooms ...
First time visit but likely the last, which is a shame as this place has some potential. The water temperature was just too cold to be pleasant. I got used to it but my two children were going blue. I think that's why there is a limit of an hour on the ticket as a health and safety measure against hyperthermia. Most of the toilets were out of order. One slide wasn't working. Many of the showers weren't working, and there is no where for a proper shower without being on display at the side of the pool. We thought we'd defrost in the café with a hot drink, but that was closed. I'd rather pay a little more for a better experience....
Went to the Aquadrome today and paid almost £16 for my partner and I to take our baby for an hour’s swim. We know the Under the sea area is closed but they have the rapids and small baby pool with slide which we enjoyed 2 weeks ago. What they failed to say on their website or on admission was they were struggling to control the temperature of the main pool. No one told us on the way in, which is unbelievable seeing as we have a young child and babies cannot regulate their temperature like adults. We got into the pool and within the first 5 minutes, our daughter was blue and shivering. We were freezing too! We figured out after 10 minutes that the one open lane pool was at the correct temperature and joined everyone else in there. What a disappointment. Generally the place looks a mess but we wouldn’t have minded if at least the pool was warm or someone had pre-warned us. We wouldn’t have paid that money to have sat in one lane pool for 50 minutes with a 10 month old baby! Told the staff at the desk but they issued a half hearted apology and that was it. We wouldn’t come again as we cannot trust that this pool is regulated at the correct temperature for babies.
Decided to take my grandchildren swimming 29 jan age 7 and 2. Firstly the changing rooms were filthy. The large pool was taken by swimming lessons so we couldn't choose a pool. The toddler activity pool was also empty and closed, but the worst part was the freezing water in the lagoon pool. Parents and children shivering not wanting to get in. Kids shivering getting out. The little pool with the slide which is normally warm for the smaller ones was also cold. Told the children we would get a snack from the cafe and THAT was closed too! Never going there again.
Very disappointed. The pool and general air temperature was so cold. My 2 year old sons lips turned blue. Some showers were broken. Flumes, jacuzzi, lagoon current and toddler splash area were not operational. Many of the features like the tipping monkey bucket were not working. A good clean need as well.
Place is old and maintenance does not keep up. Every now and then there is no hot water, cleaning is not the best. Positive point is the gym price is your kid has swimming lessons too...
So. The facilities do look a little grubby and could do with a refresh however that isn't the main goal for me. In terms of the gym it is pretty well equipped for the price I am paying. Overall, pretty happy so far!
The heaters are not working correctly at the pool. I called twice about taking my 4 month old baby before leaving for the pool. No one mentioned this until I drove 40 minutes and got to the pool. No mention on the website. The lady at the desk wasn't bothered.
I've lowered my rating as they've now locked the poolside disabled/family toilets. You have to ask staff to unlock them, which isn't convenient when you've got young children that need the toilet.
