This is a surprisingly large nature reserve that seems to sit mostly behind Russell's Hall hospital. It can be quite hilly in parts but the paths seem quite visible and easy to work you way around. More of a stick than ball nature reserve for dog walkers. Lovely walk which was over 5000 steps without going back on ourselves.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Such beautiful scenery, very local just all round lovely atmosphere. Very photogenic being surrounded by trees and nature, gorgeous spot.Visited onWeekday
Nice scenic walk. No clear footpaths really, you just sort of do your own thing. Bikers do ride around there so prepare for that. It is a little neglected but that could be due to the lockdown.
Only found the place by accident, but it appears to connect to other parks and near to Wrens Nest. To be honest it looked a little bit neglected, which is a shame... Certainly some history to the place, since it used to be a volcano!
Nice place great for walks with or without the dog. Plenty of different gradients and paths so you can vary the walk. Spoilt by the odd bit of graffiti and a much bigger pain the off-road vehicles using some sections as their own race track. If the council could control such abuses and manage the paths a little better it would make it great again. Great views from the top of the hill, well worth it, you can even see Malvern hills.
Nice area for family walks, quite hilly in places but sime nice views. Ground made fron spoil from the mine so good all times of year, not really muddy.
It's ok, nice walk for beginners
Lots of wonderful trails, great views, but be prepared to get lost as there are no waymarkers. Its a mixture of woods, fields, ponds, cliffs and far views. Pretty hilly and very muddy the day we went
Went a walk round there today for the first time in a few years. It was quite depressing to see the amount of rubbish that the summer foliage hides. Started counting the amount of dog poo bags thrown into or intentionally tied on tree branches and had to give up because there was so many.
A deceptively large and geographically varied area in which you can spend a pleasant hour or two. It also gives you a bit of an insight to the local history. Surprising views from the top of the hill. Well worth a look.
