I don’t write reviews but had to absolutely share my experience today. Tried to get kids passports checked. Very kind young man was helping me until his boss decided that they couldn’t  do passport checks because there was only two of them on. “Can I do it online or come in during the week?” No I work nights and this was my only chance to get it done. Thank you so much for all the help at Barnsley branch post office.

I visited the Post Office to renew my passport. The queue was long but the advisors were very efficient in getting customers seen as quickly as possible with top level customer service. I was dealt with by Trish. I visit the post office often for work and every time I’ve dealt with Trish she has been up-beat, very polite and so helpful. She helped me with the passport application, explaining thoroughly the process. I couldn’t have found it easier and stress-free and that’s down to Trish’ expertise and passion to help, which is what makes her ace at her job. She is a credit to the company. Brilliant service, Thank you!

Angela was very helpful and most polite and professional.  Took me through the process of passport application with great ease and clarity.  Of all the passport renewals I have done, this was by far the easiest thanks to Angela.  Credit also to the passport service and Post Office in general.  The passport was through my letter box 1 week later.  Very impressive.

I visited the post office to renew my passport, the service was excellent. Everything was explained clearly and the advisor Trish was very efficient. All round good experience.

I used the digital passport renewal service. Thanks to Trish  who was  very patient and helpful, it was very quick and easy.

I went to Barnsley Post office to renew my granddaughters passport. A lady called Trish did this for me. She was very kind and patient with both me and my granddaughter. Excellent customer service.

I just went in to collect a parcel and the woman behind the counter started talking to me as though I was a child I'm nearly 40, I ignored this behaviour and asked her to see if my parcel was with them she came back and said she can't find it and asking me if I had something to say it's there which I had she didn't even look at my phone where the info was and just started being extremely rude towards me and pushing for an argument so I said "it's ok it doesn't matter" and walked away so she then shouted at me "there's no need to be rude" but I wasn't in the slightest bit rude at all! It was her who was rude to me.  Not to mention that I was standing around waiting a long time to even be seen. It seems they like to take up people's time for no reason either by pushing for arguments or chatting to each other for long periods instead of helping customers.

Need more staff especially on a Saturday, 2 people at the counter serving and around 30 customers in store. Self service issues are left to wait for long periods of time with nobody to assist them. Hire more staff then you might have some happier customers.

If I could leave zero star I would. Hardly any staff, shut one of the only two desks as I neared the front of the massive queue and then when finally reach the desk told have "missed the cut off point" for passport services which is apparently an hour before they close but no mention of this either on website or posters to save me wasting time travelling to town or staying in the queue when it became clear how slow it was. Also there is a really annoying high pitch buzzing noise to listen to while waiting around pointlessly. Feel sorry for the one guy who was trying very hard and obviously overworked and clearly getting no help from any other staff or supervisors if those even exist
