There’s four toilets in the whole place including the disabled, two were out of order and then one closed after 5pm??? So only one singular little toilet in the entire train station. It’s just not on if you ask me and personally this is kinda crazy.
This was a fantastic station for both arrival and departure, with appropriately sized platforms for the trains! The station is well connected with the bridge across and departure boards are kept up to date, well scattered around too. Statue cutouts are an interesting feature, modern vibe is carried by the design and cleanliness had been maintained!
A post on here is complaining about the lack of toilets in the train station in Barnsley. There are more in the bus station, parallel to the lines. Go to the top floor, then across the bridge, down into the bus station, and they're at the lower end. Near to stands 20/21.
I used the train to commute from Barnsley to Sheffield in the short time I worked in the centre.nI had no problem with any of the trains, and if there was communication from the driver or the tannoys and there are plenty of signs with the platforms and destinations Barnsley has two plant forms - Leeds and Sheffield being the two biggest and nearest.nAttached is also the covered and sheltered Bus Station with seating included in local departures you can also get a coach to London or and Leeds and other destinations Sheffield, Doncaster , Rotherham.nThe information desk is open most of the time and has very helpful staff to help you if you don’t know which bus you need.
ticket men at doors were rude. was trying to help my disabled mum get off the train as she can’t walk properly and got stopped for a ticket!?
